🌱 This Dutch Design Week, we welcomed Julia Watson as a beacon of DDW. The author of Lo—TEK: Design by Radical Indigenism shared her insights in a sold-out talk at the Van Abbemuseum. You can now watch Lo-TEK: Infrastructures for an Ancestral Future online, moderated by Max de Ploeg. Watson explores how Traditional Ecological Knowledge and indigenous knowledge systems open sustainable pathways for the future, rooted in a relational understanding of complex ecosystems. Drawing from her first book and an upcoming release, Watson also made a powerful call for developing frameworks with indigenous communities to reward them (in any way they would want to) for sharing the land knowledge and climate mitigation policies they have developed over centuries. 👉 bit.ly/4fN4rsr
