𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐚𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐚 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐲 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐧 𝐮𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫. We hosted L&D Hangout 4.0, the last in a series of three incredible events we organized in 2024. It’s been a journey of teamwork, growth, and connection—and I’m grateful for every moment. Each hangout had its unique charm, but they all shared one thing in common: they brought the L&D community together in a way that no LinkedIn message or virtual event ever could. From the deep, insightful conversations to the laughter that echoed through the day, these moments reminded me why I love the OLXD community. This year taught me the power of Leadership, teamwork, and a shared Vision. I owe so much to Ademola Johnson, FLPI for trusting us with this platform and my brilliant core teammates—Jennifer Ajie-Oputa, Omolafe Segun-Dabo, and Shalom Anurigwo—who brought creativity and dedication to every detail. Celebrating the Superheroes Behind the 4th OLxD - Organizational Learning & Development Hangout in Lagos! I want to take a moment to celebrate the exceptional professionals who made the Fourth L&D Hangout a reality. From the very beginning of the planning phase to the last moments of the event, their sheer commitment, expertise, and collaborative spirit were the driving force behind this successful gathering. Each member of this team brought something unique to the table, and it was their collective strengths, dedication, and teamwork that allowed us to achieve our goal. As 2024 dawned, a young lady yearned to make a meaningful impact in her industry, her aspirations stretching far beyond. At first, it seemed like just another dream. But dreams have a way of taking shape when passion meets opportunity. In the second quarter of the year, there was an open call for researchers in the OLxD - Organizational Learning & Development community. Without hesitation, she stepped forward. Those few minutes of courage became a turning point in her journey. Her momentum didn't stop there. When the opportunity arose to join the planning committee for #olxdhangout3.0, she seized it with both hands. Here, she met Victor Abraham , a mentor who has become instrumental in her growth. The highlight of her journey came with #olxdcon24. As a volunteer reporter, she didn't just participate – she contributed. She gave back to the community that was simultaneously lifting her up, creating a beautiful cycle of growth and gratitude. Toluwalope Ojo is a testament to the power of community, of taking bold steps, and of remaining open to opportunities.
