On November 28, 2024 NISER hosted the general public at the November 2024 edition of the Actualizing Behaviour Change Series with the theme, 'THE HEART OF SUCCESS: How Organizational Culture and Behaviour drives Organizational Effectiveness.' It was a truly insightful event with a prolific presentation by Dr. Emmanuel Imafidon. The event was chaired by Mr. Foluso Phillips, and panel discussions with Omotola Oshinowo, Chizoba Mojekwu and Prof Oka Obono, under the moderation of Steve O. Ogidan, mni. Some of the insights shared at the event include: - Behaviour is influenced by values, beliefs, and social norms - Effectiveness is not about hitting goals/targets, but about doing so in a collaborative way such that innovation not stifled and that every individual feels they are part of something meaningful - Every culture starts with a clear vision. When people know the WHY they are more likely to align. - People look to their leaders to know what is acceptable and what is rewarded, as it reinforces the culture. - Organizational Culture guides the way the employees interact with the work, with each other, and with the world outside. NISER appreciates the contributions of our resource persons to the success of the event and looks forward to more avenues for engagement.
