Over the past week, DUBAWA and other members of the Ghana Fact-Checking Coalition have worked to tackle misinformation during the elections. We monitored the media, fact-checked claims in real-time, and supported voter participation through a heavy media literacy campaign. During a press briefing earlier today, we shared findings from our efforts, including completed fact-checks and trends in election disinformation. We also exposed coordinated attempts to spread false information. The work doesn’t stop here. As part of our commitment to combating misinformation during the elections, DUBAWA is working across three situation rooms in Ghana alongside other fact-checkers and election observers to provide real-time verified updates to ensure voters have access to accurate and credible information.

Today, we officially launched the Ghana Fact-Checking Coalition and opened the Election Situation Room ahead of the Ghana general elections this weekend.
