Ainol Razman had always been fascinated with the potential of the shared economy to create new opportunities for people. He had first learned about this concept when he was visiting New York City for work in 2008, where he had the chance to meet the founders of AirBnB. He was impressed by their creativity and innovation in renting out air mattresses to travelers, and he saw the potential for this type of sharing economy to grow into something much bigger.
Over time, Ainol watched as the shared economy ecosystem grew and evolved, with new platforms emerging to connect people with goods and services in innovative ways. He saw the rise of Uber, Lyft, and other ride-sharing platforms (Grab - which is closer to Malaysian shores), as well as home-sharing services like HomeAway and VRBO. He was excited by the potential for these platforms to create new opportunities for service providers and customers alike.
However, as he delved deeper into the world of shared economy platforms, Ainol began to see a dark side to this industry. He saw how some of these platforms were manipulating the system to take advantage of service providers, calling them "partners" while giving them little control or ownership over their work. He saw how service providers were being paid low wages and subjected to unfair working conditions, with little opportunity for advancement or entrepreneurship.
Determined to create a better model for the shared economy, Ainol founded FixApa, a platform that would disrupt this manipulation and empower service providers to become solopreneurs. FixApa would give service providers the tools, resources, and training they needed to take control of their own work and build their own businesses. Instead of being seen as mere gig workers, FixApa's service providers would be valued as entrepreneurs and business owners, with the skills and support they needed to succeed on their own terms.
With FixApa, Ainol aimed to create a fairer and more sustainable model for the shared economy, one that would benefit service providers, customers, and the wider community. He believed that by empowering service providers to become solopreneurs, he could help them achieve financial independence, build their own brands, and contribute to the growth and vitality of the shared economy ecosystem. And with his passion, vision, and determination, Ainol was well on his way to making this dream a reality.
