About Prasarana Malaysia Berhad Prasarana Malaysia Berhad (“Prasarana”) is a wholly-owned Government company established by the Ministry of Finance, set up to facilitate, undertake and expedite public infrastructure projects approved by the Government. Prasarana and its group of companies are asset-owners and operators of several public transport services, namely the LRT Ampang/ Sri Petaling and LRT Kelana Jaya lines, the KL Monorail system, as well as bus operations in Klang Valley, Penang and Kuantan. The operations of these public transport systems are under the purview of Prasarana’s subsidiaries Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd (Rapid Rail) and Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd (Rapid Bus) under the Rapid KL brand name. Rapid Rail are also operators of the two MRT lines – the Kajang Line and the Putrajaya Line. The company operates and maintains the urban rail services, covering 149 stations over a span of 205 km in total. Rapid Bus operates in the Klang Valley, Penang, and Kuantan, operating under the brands Rapid KL, Rapid Penang, and Rapid Kuantan respectively. In addition to their regular bus services, the company also operates BRT in Bandar Sunway, and feeder buses that serve LRT and MRT stations. Prasarana is also currently developing a third LRT system – the LRT Shah Alam Line – which is scheduled to commence revenue operations in the first quarter of 2025.

𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Prasarana is now a UITP-recognised regional training centre, showcasing our commitment to excellence on the world stage. 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: By Q1 2025, more Demand Responsive Transport (DRT) vans will take to the roads, enhancing connectivity and accessibility for passengers. 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗮 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲: The MyTourist Pass will welcome travellers to explore Malaysia with ease, showcasing our nation’s charm. 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: With the Tioman Project, we’re putting trains in water, not just to carry passengers but to propagate coral reefs. We’re proving that innovation and sustainability can go hand in hand. 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀: Train and bus frequencies will increase, with an additional three new dedicated bus lanes launching in KL by 2025 to streamline urban transit. 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗲𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: Expanding training opportunities to empower our people to grow, lead, and excel. 𝗖𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗙𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀: Prioritising passenger experiences at every step of their journey. He also teased our ambitious target for 2025: serving 1.31 million passengers daily. Our Chairman, YBhg Tan Sri Jamaludin Ibrahim, delivered a heartfelt address, reminding us of how far we’ve come. “Some achievements we celebrate today would have seemed impossible just three years ago,” he said. He expressed pride in our accomplishments and thanked our bus and train teams for their dedication to delivering safe, reliable service every day. One of the most inspiring moments was the Special Focus Recognitions, where we celebrated employees who went above and beyond their roles. Meet Misran Aman, Mechatronic Unit Supervisor for our monorail operations, whose exceptional contributions reflect Prasarana’s core belief in Engineering & Operational Excellence. A true innovator, Misran has been instrumental in enhancing system reliability and safety. His groundbreaking test bench for the In-Train Signal System has resolved 95% of persistent issues, such as antenna, Balise Transmission Module (BTM), and European Vital Computer (EVC) failures. This achievement not only sets a new standard for technical excellence but also improves system reliability, bringing us closer to achieving our 1 Million Mean Kilometres Before Failure (MKBF) goal. Safety is at the heart of everything we do, and Misran’s recent development of a critical safety system enabling precise train stops significantly reduces risks like overshooting or derailments, underscoring Prasarana’s commitment to Passenger Well-Being. Last week, we hosted the Prasarana Annual Trainers Conference (PATC) 2024, an inspiring gathering aimed at shaping the future of learning and development in the digital era. Guided by our tagline Guru Jauhari Digital, Aspirasi Negara Madani, the event brought together our dedicated Learning & Development (L&D) team to explore how training must adapt to the rapidly changing demands of the 21st century. In his opening speech, Encik Zaki, Head of L&D, emphasised the evolving role of educators. “Teachers don’t just teach; they instill values and skills,” he said. He highlighted the importance of adapting to change and showcased Prasarana’s robust 2024 training calendar, which empowered 20,688 participants through internal and external programmes. The conference also recognised excellence in training with awards presented to our top trainers and associate trainers, celebrating their remarkable contributions. Additionally, we introduced Focus Recognition cards to honor trainers who consistently went above and beyond in their roles, ensuring impactful and meaningful learning experiences. The event featured four dynamic guest speakers, Technologist Noor Olya Dollah who spoke on The Digital Guru: Shaping the Future of Education, Adj. Prof. Ts. Dr. Behrang (Hani) Parhizkar who delivered insights on The Power of AI: Revolutionising Training and Development, Sam Suresh who explored Harnessing Digital Tools for Interactive Learning and Omar Sterling who shared The Art of Being a Magnetic Trainer. Episode #8 – Let’s Get MENTAL(ly) Healthy featured the insightful Dr. Mastura Rosly, Psychiatrist from KPJ Sentosa KL Specialist Hospital, who took us on a deep dive into mental health and well-being. Here’s a glimpse of the session: 𝗦𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻: Dr. Mastura shed light on this silent struggle, where individuals may appear happy outwardly but battle depression internally. 𝗡𝗲𝘂𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗼𝘅𝗶𝗰 𝗛𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀 (𝗘𝗗𝗖𝘀): She explained how certain chemicals disrupt the body’s hormones and affect the nervous system, potentially impacting mental health. 𝗡𝗲𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆: The brain’s incredible ability to adapt, change, and form new connections throughout life was a fascinating highlight. 𝗘𝗽𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀: Dr. Mastura also introduced the concept of how environmental and behavioural factors influence gene function without altering DNA. Today, we are proud to recognise Kaaliammah Panner Selvam, a Customer Service Assistant at BRT Sunway Depot, as our latest Culture Hero. Kaaliammah demonstrated exceptional composure and responsibility when faced with an urgent situation. During her shift, she witnessed a contractor sustaining a severe injury while performing escalator maintenance. Acting swiftly, Kaaliammah retrieved a first-aid kit, administered care to stop the bleeding, and reassured the injured individual until medical help arrived. Her actions reflect Prasarana’s Culture Belief of “Acting Responsibly”, stepping up when it matters most, not only for oneself but for others. Kaaliammah’s quick thinking and proactive care turned a distressing moment into a testament of unity and compassion. As Kaaliammah herself said, “Safety is a shared responsibility.
