𝐃𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐄𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐝-𝐀𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐅𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐬 The Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC) continues its humanitarian mission by providing vital assistance to flood-affected communities in Terengganu on 18 December 2024. The flood relief programme, organised by the MRC Terengganu Chapter took place at Balai Raya Kampung Bukit Tadok in Hulu Terengganu. The event was graced by Her Highness Dato’ Seri DiRaja Tan Sri Tunku Puteri Intan Safinaz binti Almarhum Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah, Tunku Temenggong Kedah, MRC National Chairperson, who extended her support alongside members of the MRC Governing Board. As part of the initiative, MRC distributed food packs contributed by Nestlé Malaysia, hygiene kits from Guardian Malaysia and meals by KFC Malaysia. MRC volunteers conducted health screenings, hygiene promotion, Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) activities and visits to bedridden flood victims, offering both practical assistance and emotional support. The programme directly benefitted 70 families in Kampung Bukit Tadok and contributed to MRC’s broader flood relief efforts in response to the Northeast Monsoon floods. To date, over 30,000 individuals from more than 6,000 households have received aid. 𝐀 𝐉𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐄𝐟𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 On 14 December 2024, the MRC Kedah Chapter in collaboration with Erma Fatima (Mak Cun) and Adabi Sdn Bhd organised a food distribution programme at Masjid Kampung Alor Melintang and Masjid Sungai Baru in Kota Setar, Kedah. 1,000 freshly cooked meals, 400 food kits from Erma Fatima and 2,000 KFC Malaysia meals were distributed to ease the burden of flood-affected families. This initiative was strongly supported by our National Chairperson, Her Highness Dato' Seri DiRaja Tan Sri Tunku Puteri Intan Safinaz, whose leadership continues to inspire our humanitarian mission. Through KFC Malaysia's Add Hope Malaysia initiative, a generous RM100,000 pledge dedicated to meal distribution has enabled us to provide over 6,000 meals to families at their homes and relief centres, offering much-needed sustenance and hope during these challenging times. CRSM has assisted MRC in delivering over 1,800 boxes of essential supplies by providing its logistical support to ensure the swift and efficient distribution of aid to those in need. Additionally, CRSM contributed 300 boxes of essential hygiene items, further strengthening the relief efforts. IOM Malaysia, in collaboration with the Malaysian Red Crescent, recently held Advanced CPR and First Aid Training for immigration officers from the Immigration Department of Malaysia in Kuching, Sarawak. This training builds on the Basic CPR Training conducted earlier this year, further strengthening the officers’ life-saving skills. Through practical discussions and hands-on simulations, participants gained valuable experience, boosting their confidence in handling real-life emergencies. In collaboration with Jabatan Imigresen Malaysia and Malaysian Red Crescent, IOM Malaysia recently conducted comprehensive training on Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) for immigration officers. This initiative equips officers with essential skills to address the emotional and psychological needs of migrants and refugees, fostering compassion and understanding in challenging situations.
