Job Description: Staff Accountant
Position Overview: As a Staff Accountant at Mr.
Hospitality, you play a pivotal role within the Finance division, reporting directly to the Financial Controller and CFO.
Your primary objective is to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records through meticulous execution of accounting tasks.
This position demands strong attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and effective collaboration with cross-functional team members.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management:
Review and validate vendor invoices entered into the bill payment database for accuracy, approval, and timely processing.
Collaborate with the accounts payable clerk to reconcile vendor statements and balances on a daily basis.
Accurately record routine payroll activities and ensure the correctness of payroll liabilities and year-to-date balances.
Perform monthly reconciliation of cash and credit card statements, analyzing and rectifying any significant discrepancies.
Ensure adherence to monthly closing procedures, facilitating the availability of financial information for timely review.
Obtain and maintain necessary vendor documents such as W-9s and insurance certificates, ensuring proper documentation.
Record periodic sales activities and liaise with department personnel to ensure precise reporting.
Performance Management:
Compile and submit reports to the CFO and Financial Controller for evaluating performance against predefined targets.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with the accounts payable clerk to investigate and resolve vendor statement discrepancies.
Communicate effectively with department personnel regarding inventory counts, making necessary adjustments for accurate reporting.
Provide support for special projects assigned by the Financial Controller or CFO.
Skills and Attributes:
Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and respond promptly to emails.
Computer Proficiency: Proficient in Excel, payroll platforms, POS software, and other relevant software.
Effective Communication: Capable of communicating with both front-of-house and back-of-house teams, adept at addressing conflicts professionally.
Hospitality: Demonstrates a pleasant demeanor, patience, and strong situational awareness.
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm
