*About the Role:*
As a Financial Controller at Southeast Veterinary Neurology, you'll play a crucial role in our mission by ensuring efficient financial operations.
Reporting to the CEO, you will oversee various accounting and finance functions, including cash management, payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and budgeting.
Your work will contribute directly to the smooth running of our organization, allowing us to continue providing exceptional care to pets and their families.
*Main Role Objectives:*
* Perform accounting tasks including cash management, reconciliations, and overseeing accounts receivable and accounts payable.
* Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and taxes.
* Generate timely and relevant financial and business reports for management and related parties.
*Responsibilities:*
* Reconcile general ledger accounts monthly.
* Maintain a customized chart of accounts in line with veterinary industry standards.
* Oversee purchasing and payable procedures for accuracy and efficiency.
* Monitor cash balances and manage cash cycles effectively.
* Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including P&L statements, balance sheets, and budget variance reports.
* Compile other financial and business reports as required for management review.
* Implement and maintain internal controls within accounting processes.
* Notify the CEO of any concerns or specific problem areas.
*Qualifications:*
*Education:*
* Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance required.
* CMA or Masters in Accounting preferred.
*Experience:*
* At least ten years of experience in a business office with increasing responsibilities in accounting, financial reporting, and budget development is required.
* Five years experience managing a small business office with duties in accounting and bookkeeping preferred.
*Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:*
* High level of full-cycle accounting knowledge for multi-location operations.
* Familiarity with intercompany journal entries.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment.
* Positive, energetic attitude with excellent communication and organizational skills.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure against strict deadlines.
* Extensive knowledge of QuickBooks Online, Google Sheets, and MS Excel.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $90,000.
