A huge ITV gameshow hosted by a Harry Potter icon is reportedly being shelved.

Tenable, which was fronted by Griphook and Professor Filius actor Warwick Davis, is said to be not returning after seven series on air.

The competition programme saw contestants aiming to win up to £125,000 by giving as many answers as possible out of 10 in lists of a particular category.

It first aired in 2016, with Coronation Street actress Sally Lindsay stepping in to present in 2021.

And despite more than 200 episodes, there are now plans to shelve the series, according to reports.

An ITV spokesperson told Metro.co.uk: ‘Tenable has been a much loved ITV game show since it launched in 2016. Whilst there are no brand new episodes currently planned, fans of the show can still watch over on ITVX.’

Fans have been left devastated at the news it may not return, after rumours began to swirl on social media.

‘Shame because Warwick Davis is a great tv presenter for this. Hopefully he gets on something else,’ @Tom_Muzzy_2001 said.

‘This is probably the best of the tv shows, shame,’ @smithy9114 added.

Warwick, 54, took a pause from the programme three years ago, due to scheduling conflicts with other work.

Speaking about guest presenting, Sally said at the time: ‘I’m a huge fan of Tenable and am delighted I’m able to share the presenting responsibilities with Warwick.’

‘The demands of his workload meant that he wasn’t able to record every show in the series,’ she added.

Willow actor Warwick also presented Celebrity Squares on ITV in 2014, after it was revived from Bob Monkhouse’s original 70s gameshow.

The news of the possible axe comes after the death of Warwick’s wife Samantha Davis in March this year.

In a statement, the Star Wars actor described the impact that Samantha’s death aged 53 had on his and his family’s lives.

‘Her passing has left a huge hole in our lives as a family. I miss her hugs,’ he said.

The actor described his wife, ‘Sammy’, as his ‘most trusted confidant and an ardent supporter of everything I did in my career’.

‘She was a unique character, always seeing the sunny side of life she had a wicked sense of humour and always laughed at my bad jokes.’

‘Mum is our best friend and we’re honoured to have received a love like hers,’ their children Harrison and Annabelle added.

‘With her by my side, I was sure I could achieve anything, it was like having a super-power,’ Warwick continued.

‘Without Sammy, there would have been no Tenable quiz show, no Willow series. No Idiot Abroad Series 3.’

Tenable is available to watch on ITVX.
