Most hotel rooms will contain the same basics; a bed, wardrobe, a chair, and bathroom. On your travels, you probably see these regularly and think little of them.

But it turns out one of these unassuming items is being used by couples to satisfy a particular fetishcuckolding.

No, we’re not talking about the bed, although that likely plays a huge role in this also. Instead you’ll want to turn your attention to the chair. You know, the one that’s pretty much always angled towards the bed, making it a perfect viewing spot for… well, just about anything.

As such, hotel room chairs (and sofas) have been dubbed by those in the know as ‘cuck chairs’ and there are even TikTok accounts devoted to the piece of furniture.

One user, known only as @canyoudigit317 (who makes it clear they aren’t a cuck themselves, they just stay in a lot of hotels) has amassed thousands of followers, all eagerly awaiting a glimpse of the ‘cuck chair of the day’.

So what exactly is a cuck chair?

‘Cuckolding is a fetish where one person within a couple (the cuck) gets aroused by their partner having sex with someone else. This is consensual from all sides,’ Gemma Nice, an award-winning sex and relationship coach, tells Metro.co.uk.

‘The cuck will be away from the area where this sexual act is being performed, they can still watch if they want to but they do not engage. Most of the time they might sit in a chair near the bed or within the room.’

And there you have it. The cuck chair.

Gemma goes on to explain that cuckolding is ‘very common’, attracting couples in particular due to the power dynamics it creates (dominance and submission). Kinks such as humiliation can also be explored within this, and often the cuck will either be masturbating or simply listening to their partner enjoy themselves.

Hotels can play a big part in this fetish, according to the expert, as the setting makes the whole experience even sexier.

‘On top of the arousal from cuckolding, there’s the addition of hotel sex, which is a top fantasy for many,’ says Gemma.

‘This is because you’re in a different bedroom, you’re away from home, with clean sheets, different decor and no distractions like pets or children.

‘It’s a more relaxed space and you might also find yourself getting turned on by the knowledge that other couples, who you don’t know, could be having sex in the hotel rooms near you.’

Speaking on the chair element specifically, she continues: ‘The added bonus is that there’s pretty much always a chair in a hotel room. This allows you to have sex on different fabrics, in different areas of the room, and if you’re engaging in cuckolding, it can be used to play into those power dynamics as a ‘control toy’ — for instance a husband might be told to sit in the chair and watch his wife have sex with someone else. His wife would be in control of the situation by being the more dominant one.’

While chairs obviously have a number of more, everyday uses, such as sitting down to work or read a book, or as a storage space for your luggage, once you’ve started to think of them in this way, you might find it difficult to stop…

A number of social media users have shared videos about the revelation that almost every hotel they’ve ever stayed in has a chair facing the bed.

One, @phoebeisginger1, recently posted a number of pictures of random hotel, saying: ‘What the hell, I’ve just discovered something completely crazy… why is it that in every hotel room you go into there is a chair facing the bed. Every. Single. Hotel Room.’

Another, @sexyswingerchic91, also made a similar video, telling viewers: ‘This is your weekly reminder that every hotel room basically has a cuck chair.’

She added: ‘What is that chair actually used for other than storing your luggage? Couldn’t be…’

How to give cuckolding a go

It may seem enticing on first glance, but Gemma warns that cuckolding is something you’ll want to spend some time really thinking through before giving it a try. You’ll also need to make sure your partner is comfortable with the idea and will talk to you about any concerns they might have. Open and honest communication is crucial here.

‘It helps to have great communication between the two of you in the first place,’ she says.

‘This is where jealousy can crop up, so, this needs to be spoken about and if you were to go the full way, you will both need to decide on a safe word to stop. Boundaries need to be put into place and stuck to, you can’t go past these within the heat of the moment.’

As an initial first step, the expert suggests acting out a scenario with just the two of you, pretending there is someone else in the room with you.

If you then decide you’re ready to give it a go for real, Gemma advises starting out by going to a bar and having your partner flirt with someone else.

‘How does this feel?’ she adds. ‘If it feels good, you can then start to move it to the bedroom.’

Or the hotel room, of course.
