Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) has found herself entangled with a number of bad boys during her years on Coronation Street – and now fans have ‘worked out’ that she’s about to fall for the charms of another.
The long-standing character has had a testing time recently, after the reappearance of sick paedophile Nathan Curtis (Christopher Harper), who groomed her daughter Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon).
In a bid to get rid of him, Sarah took drastic action to frame him for Lauren Bolton’s disappearance by planting one of her hairs in his van.
After catching her in the act, police officer Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) decided to turn a blind eye.
However, Kit’s true colours have come to light in recent weeks, as he has been in cahoots with slippery stolen goods supplier Sid, and has sought to drive Beth Sutherland (Lisa George) out of Weatherfield. Many fans have also suspected he might be connected to evil Joel Deering (Calum Lil).
Sorry, this video isn't available any more.
Now they have another prediction – that Sarah and Kit could end up together.
A new thread has popped up on Reddit, titled: ‘Does anyone think Sarah will ultimately end up with Kit? If you’re a bad boy, she’s pretty much a sure thing.’
‘Quite possibly. They already have a connection with the planted evidence,’ one fan agreed.
Another wrote: ‘He’s slimy so a sure bet he’ll end up with Sarah at some point. If not as an ultimate couple, as a consolation prize after Daisy.’
‘Kits probably going to be a major womaniser presuming he stays in the show,’ another contributed. ‘I suspect Daisy is more likely than Sarah but id never say never with relationships in soaps.’
Sarah’s most recent relationship saw her embark on an affair with drug dealer Damon Hay (Ciaran Griffiths) which ended her marriage to Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson).
In an interview earlier this year, actress Tina O’Brien admitted she enjoyed playing Sarah as being unlucky in love.
‘I think it’s a lot more interesting as an actor,’ she told Manchester Evening News. ‘Sometimes for my character I do love the idea of her being settled and happy but for me it keeps me much busier and it’s much more fun to play.
‘I loved the will they/won’t they elements of the story with Adam, I think sometimes that’s almost more powerful, two people who should probably be together but the universe has got in their way and they’ve never been able to resolve that.
][I like that unspoken love, that they might go off in their different directions but there’ll always be that pull, kind of like she was for a long time with Gary [Windass] too.’
Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Thursday at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
