It can be easy to reach for a free-from egg that covers all bases.

But someone who is only gluten-free will probably still want a creamy, milky egg – so they don’t miss out on the chocolate.

Thankfully, there are numerous gluten-free Easter egg options out there – and we’ve rounded up some of the best on the high street.

Add one of these to cart – you’ll be thanked for making the effort.

Of course, always read the label to double check.

Lifestyle writer Alice Giddings says this is one of her favourite eggs to receive.

‘As a coeliac it can be really frustrating getting free-from literally everything eggs every Easter,’ she says.

‘I want to feel like I’m eating real chocolate. The Milky Bar egg is my favourite big branded gluten-free egg, because I used to eat them before I had to go gluten-free.’

Note though, not all sizes of this product are gluten-free – so stick to the small one and double check on the label.

Available from Sainsbury’s for £1.25.

One reviewer said: ‘It’s hard to get a vegan, gluten-free, wheat-free and milk-free white chocolate to taste like the familiar melt-in-your-mouth Easter offerings (even if it’s in the shape of an adorable lil chick) but Tesco does its best with this one.’

Available from Tesco for £3.50
