Provide leadership and coaching for all safety, quality, customer service, productivity, Continuous Improvement and Lean objectives, and goals for the work team.
Assist in the implementation of product and process improvements.
*Major Duties (What will I be doing?):* * Lead the day-to-day operation and function of a production team.
* Monitor team’s performance metrics (scorecard) and lead efforts to improve results.
* Coordinate staffing and equipment resources with other team leads in the facility.
* Effectively communicate job status updates to sales members.
* Coordinate work schedules with team members including floating assignments.
* Monitor daily operations and actively assist or provide direction to team members as needed.
* Promote and build a strong working relationship using team-building skills.
* Interview and recommend team hires and promotion; and evaluate members annually or as needed.
* Serve as Leader for team meetings.
* Promote and maintain a team environment.
* Facilitate training, coaching, and setting expectations for team members.
* Provide leadership for a team approach to problem solving and decision making.
* Ensure that team projects are completed in a timely manner.
* Communicate all relative team issues with the Manufacturing Manager.
* Implement Lean methods and principles.
* Write and maintain operating procedures/standard work.
*Special Job Characteristics:* * Strong communication skills * Strong leadership skills * Ability to use measuring devices.
* Manual dexterity * Detail orientation * Strong mechanical aptitude * Willingness to work flexible hours to meet customer needs and for the development of additional production shifts.
* The ability to work collaboratively with others toward mutual objectives.
* Effective troubleshooting skills * A self-motivated, goal directed, self-starter able to define and pursue a course of action consistent with corporate goals and the production development of this new product.
* A "can do," flexible, and team oriented approach with a corresponding interest in taking on various additional projects as required.
* Be the department champion of effectively communicating Metalcraft Compass and Values.
