Using generative AI to transform enterprise Java applications-  IBM 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘅 𝗖𝗼𝗱𝗲 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗚𝗔 𝗺𝗶𝗱–𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 Rkube.IO partnered with IBM to execute a successful proof of concept (PoC) utilizing IBM watsonx Code Assistant, an advanced AI tool designed for coding assistance and the modernization of enterprise Java applications. The pilot program, which involved 10 participants (from IBM, Power Maroc and Rkube.IO), focused on integrating watsonx into rKube's workflows to automate critical tasks, including code transformations, unit test generation, and comprehensive analyses of modifications. As a result, 80% of legacy WebSphere application code was automatically transformed into contemporary frameworks, and unit test coverage was enhanced to 90%. IBM watsonx Code Assistant significantly improved operational efficiency, streamlined software development processes, and boosted employee productivity, all while modernizing applications and enhancing the customer experience. IBM watsonx Code Assistant leverages 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲 models to augment programmer skill sets, simplifying and automating your coding and modernization efforts. I had a good discussion during the "Ensuring Secure Cloud Migration" event on October 7-8, organized by Ministère de la Transition Numérique et de la Réforme de l'Administration and the Direction Générale de la Sécurité des Systèmes d'Information. During a panel featuring remarkable speakers from DGSSI, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Huawei, and Oracle Cloud Business Partner, we focused on the future of sovereign cloud through Atlas Cloud Services and Power Maroc’s vision, emphasizing five key pillars: Multi-cloud, Hybrid cloud, Open standards, local management and operation, and a marketplace designed to meet Moroccan customers' needs. A key takeaway was the importance of believing in the local ecosystem; a sovereign cloud cannot simply be purchased—it must be collaboratively designed and built with diverse technological partners and pioneer customers.
