We recently organized the #GUTday conference to spotlight the importance of #guthealth as a foundation of our overall well-being. GUTday brought together a diverse group of passionate experts in family medicine, nutrition, psychology, gastroenterology, dermatology, and food sciences. The event featured a series of insightful presentations centered around the fascinating world of the gut microbiome. Attendees were thrilled to delve into various captivating topics, including the profound impact of gut health on #mentalwellbeing and practical, life-changing approaches to improving gut health through diet and lifestyle modifications. 💡 Did you know that taking a 14-day course of antibiotics can massively damage the diversity of the microbiome, and it may take more than a year to restore it? The diversity of the microbiome plays a pivotal role in preventing and managing a wide range of health conditions. GUTday provided an incredible platform for networking and collaboration, fostering a vibrant sense of community among participants. 🚀 The first GUTday was a stepping stone, sparking ideas for the next conference already. Meet Fermentful. We combine the power plants and science to produce fermented dairy-free drinks that benefit our mental and physical wellbeing, meanwhile doing good to the planet. We are planting the future where functional plant-based foods are a part of a healthy everyday diet to prevent chronic disease, boost immunity, and relieve stress and anxiety. Feremntful is a food-tech startup founded in 2020 in Riga, Latvia. In cooperation with food researchers and scientists, we have developed technology that allows us to create kefir from green buckwheats with a creamy texture and taste just like traditional milk kefir. Our dairy-free kefir is rich in high-quality plant protein (2.5g/100ml) and live bacteria. It is extremely low in sugar (0.2g/100ml) and carbon footprint. We aim to make it easy for anyone whether they are vegan, flexitarian, or just interested in a healthy lifestyle to make conscious everyday choices towards a healthier more sustainable diet with no compromise to taste and quality.
