CIMA is notifying stakeholders of a change to the application form for the registration of Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASPs) through the REEFS portal. Effective 13 December 2024, the current VASP application form, APP 101-84, will be replaced with a new form, APP 101-84-05. This update is designed to streamline the application process by incorporating additional questions and clarifying document requirements. In addition, these changes ensure better alignment with the Virtual Asset Service Provider Act (2024 Revision), improve the completeness of submissions, and facilitate a more efficient registration process. We're committed to building stronger, more inclusive communities – one initiative at a time. This International Day of Persons with Disabilities, we're showcasing how our global offices support and engage with people with disabilities in their local communities. Our Dubai DEI committee is celebrating the day with our third annual Christmas pop-up collaboration with SNF Group, a specialised learning development and training facility empowering young adults. Speaking of making a difference, our Cayman Islands team recently volunteered at Rotary Club of Grand Cayman Sunrise, connecting with their community through meaningful activities. Our team worked on gardening, crafting, and even helping construct a cardboard boat for Pirate's Week. Cayman Finance In the News: Steve McIntosh, MBA, FCA, CEO of Cayman Finance, warns that complacency poses a critical risk to the Cayman Islands' financial services industry, despite its $500 million annual contribution to government revenue. Speaking at an international conference, he called for investment in technology, workforce development, and government support to sustain the industry. He noted that the industry employs over 4,000 Caymanians and underpins the economy but faces challenges like competition, rising costs, and underfunding compared to tourism promotion. He urged collaboration to ensure the sector remains globally competitive and a key pillar of the Caymanian economy.
