Our experts, Lucy Frew, Ed Pearson, and Nicholas Quin recently hosted a webinar highlighting the impact of the changes to the BORR and what is needed to be compliant. Three key insights from the webinar: ◼️ The Cayman Islands beneficial ownership reporting regime has been in place since 2017, with recent changes expanding its scope. Entities must identify and report their beneficial owners, ensuring compliance with the updated regulations to avoid penalties. ◼️ Take advantage of our interactive decision trees and advisories available on walkersglobal.com to determine if your entity needs to maintain a register of beneficial owners and how to identify them. ◼️ With the enforcement for newly in scope entities starting in January, it is crucial to engage with legal counsel and your registered office to ensure compliance and avoid penalties. We're proud to celebrate over 20 years of partnership with the National Trust for the Cayman Islands, namely supporting the conservation of Cayman's endemic Blue Iguana through the Blue Iguana Conservation (BIC) programme. Walkers partner Shelley White recently attended the National Trust's Corporate Appreciation event, where she accepted a certificate of appreciation on behalf of Walkers. It was a beautiful afternoon amongst local organisations and community members revisiting and applauding the phenomenal conservation work done this year by the National Trust. Our commitment to the BIC programme remains as strong as ever. One way we show our pride for the Blue Iguana is through our Walkers' mascot, Iggy. Each of our 10 offices around the world have a collection of Iggy plush toys used to spread awareness of the Blue Iguana and the importance of protecting Cayman's only endemic iguana. We look forward to continuing our partnership with the National Trust for many years to come.
