Farmer Mobilization and Recruitment: - Identify and recruit small-scale farmers into the sunflower and castor contract farming programs. - Organize and conduct sensitization meetings with local communities and farmer groups. 2. Training and Capacity Building: - Train farmers on best agronomic practices for sunflower and castor cultivation. - Provide ongoing technical support to farmers, including advice on land preparation, planting, pest control, and harvesting. - Organize field days, workshops, and demonstrations to improve farming techniques. 3. Some they call it radical generosity. A generosity attitude has a magnetic impact on customers, it makes your brand preference high. DID I FAIL? When I first got employed as the marketing manager For a big brand some time ago I was so afraid & worried !!! I have never held such big position before I recall the pressure that came with the job My first target was N100M in 3 months 😮 C’mon, how am I going achieve that With little or no Experience at all & A Brand that just came to town? I thought to myself !!!! At first, I felt the target was unrealistic But then again, I saw it as an opportunity For growth and I leverage that. Targets are not meant to kill you Rather, I see it as a solid system to push you To give your best I quickly had to learn fast Thank God for Mr Tobi Emmanuel, He was the best guide I could ask for. To be truthful, I didn’t meet that target 😥 I will say I failed, but not woefully 😂 I didn’t feel bad or disappointed by that Because, I learnt things that positioned me For the greater roles I occupy today. Your skill is not enough! Whilst I promote skills and capability acquisition, the need for a robust value system cannot be overemphasized in one’s search for opportunities. I have heard stories about people who began their businesses without money and those who secured jobs just by riding on the legacy of their fathers. I have also seen people who lost great job opportunities because they didn’t present their authentic selves on their CVs and Linkedln bios. Therefore, to stand on the advantageous side of the competitive job market, you need to possess INTEGRITY. Integrity - A fundamental currency of value systems has fast become a scarce resource in the business and career ecosystem. Therefore possessing this rare quality sets you apart. As a job seeker, presenting your authentic self on and offline places you in the advantaged position - enough of the branding lies. As a management body, treat your employees the very way you promised during the interview/induction. This gives you a legacy and talent sustainability advantage. Life Lessons from Playing Golf ⛳️ 🏌️ 1. Every hole is different 😃– Just as you need a different club for different strokes, life too requires adaptability in every season. You can excel on one hole and falter on the next, but as long as the game continues, you have a chance to improve. Similarly, in life, we should not dwell on yesterday's failures but use them as momentum for tomorrow’s opportunities. 2. A trusted caddie makes all the difference 👥– Surround yourself with people who support you, go the extra mile for you, and provide valuable advice and constructive criticism. Your circle of friends can either propel you forward or drain your energy – choose wisely. 3. Have fun 💃🏽 – Yes, not achieving a par, getting a birdie, or bogey can be frustrating, but golf is fundamentally fun. Life should be the same; regardless of what it throws at you, find joy in the chaos, see the silver lining in every cloud, and remember that every season serves a purpose. 4. Play often and you’ll get better 👌🏽 – The more you play golf, the better you become. Just like the slight edge principle, the more you practice a habit, the more it grows – and as it grows, you improve (assuming the habits are positive 😊). 5. You won't understand things until you get to learn from someone more experienced and enlightened. When I resumed work at Opay for the role of a customer service agent, I was more than excited and so I told myself to do a very great job. In customer service, there are different channels of communication between customers and the customer service agent, and some of these channels are: 1. Inbound calls 2. Outbound calls 3. Email 4. Social media pages ( Whatsapp, Facebook, Instagram, Playstore and so. on) 5. Feedback When I started working I was assigned to a new department that just started developing I and my colleagues who resumed together were placed in Inbound calls. As the product grew, complaints became much and then we realized that calls would not be enough so another channel would need to be created to attend to all customers very well, and so Email was introduced. It got launched and we had over 100+ emails already from the first day of launching that channel, my boss then assigned I and my team lead to take on the emails. I started and was attending to the emails very well, I got good responses from my bosses, and I really enjoyed the email channel a lot. When the channel was introduced, we were just 2 on it, so because I enjoyed it a lot, I would keep working till past 10 pm ensuring all emails are attended to and cleared. I forgot that it was supposed to be teamwork and not individual work, then I was speaking with my top boss and she said that in a Team there is nothing like 'I' instead it is 'WE'. I immediately understood that there is power in teamwork and that makes work very efficient. Also, every other person needs to learn how to work on Email so I needed to allow them also to work and try it out instead of just pushing it all onto myself. From then onward I ensure that when working in a team, I make sure everyone is carried along and participates very well, making sure it's not just about me but about US. ɪ ꜱᴛᴀʀᴛᴇᴅ ᴀꜱ ᴛʜᴇ ʏᴏᴜɴɢ ɴᴀɪᴠᴇ ᴄꜱʀ ʙᴜᴛ ɴᴏᴡ ɪ ᴀᴍ ᴀ ᴍᴀꜱᴛᴇʀ ɪɴ ᴍʏ ꜱᴋɪʟʟ ᴀɴᴅ ᴍᴏʀᴇ. In 2022, in a bid to earn a living, I applied for a job as a Customer Service Representative and yes, i got the job. I am quite an empathetic person but that needed to be sharpened so i underwent training for products and effective client relations. The training lasted for a month and half but trust me, I learnt more on the job. Overtime, I became versatile, not just in client relation but also in ticketing management because I worked with a travel agency. I initially was not into the job but the joy i derived from my client's satisfaction kept me going, even on bad days. The fact that i desire to help someone have a seamless experience and I am indeed able to satisfy them gave me more than enough reason to pursue assisting people. I took it further by applying, in the same company, to be an SME for products and client relations. I got the promotion because of my track record of excellence in exceptional customer service. I worked in this role for 4 months, got 3 batches of CSRs certified and accepted on Operational level. Currently, I assume the position of a Team Lead. For the past 6 months, my job has been and still is supporting development towards professional growth to achieve the team's objectives. This part of my life is not on hold and yes, I am a Virtual Assistant, a certified one at that. I recently concluded the LITA VA course and looking forward to the membership phase. I have come this far because of that desire to help people have a seamless experience in whatever they do and this desire has pushed me to harness my skill. The transformation as you see in the pictures is more than appearance; it includes change in mindset and skill as well. I know there is more in this and I am up for unlearning, relearning and learning, even from you reading this now. It's week 3 of the National HR Mentorship Program and these are my key takeouts: Reflections from the 3rd session of the National HR Mentorship Program, Cohort 9: The session on building effective communication skills, facilitated by Ann-Bertha Adjartey (SPHRi, MBA), was enlightening and transformative. Key takeaways include: 1. Effective communication: Ensure information is concise, clear, correct, complete, and compassionate. 2. Professional and digital etiquette: Use formal language, show respect, be culturally aware, proofread, use clear subject lines, and maintain professional-personal boundaries. 3. Communication barriers: Awareness of language, cultural, physical, psychological, organizational, and technological barriers. 4. Feedback: A two-sided tool that inspires growth.
