This Christmas season, let us embrace the vast potential of innovation. The Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) recognizes that successful trade is built on strong standards. This is a pivotal opportunity for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to seize growth through standardization. By prioritizing creating safe and trusted products, businesses can unlock access to broader markets. The path to innovation lies in the standards we establish together, driving progress and success for all. #Christmas #MerryChristmas #HappyHolidays #HolidayShopping #HappyNewYear2025 ^JKK

In response to the 2017 prohibition on single-use plastic bags implemented by the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA), the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS), Technical Committees on Hard Fibres and Related Products (KEBS/TC 066), Packaging Committee (KEBS/TC 053), and Plastics Committee (KEBS/TC 050) have collaboratively developed the Kenya National Workshop Agreement (KNWA 2884:2019) regarding Non-Woven Polypropylene Bags—Specification. In the ongoing commitment to upholding the effectiveness and relevance of this standard, as well as catering to stakeholder requirements, today, the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) commenced a comprehensive review of KNWA 2884:2019. This review aims to ensure alignment with the current harmonization efforts being undertaken by the African Organisation for Standardisation - ARSO. Zacharia Lukorito, the Director of Standards Development and Trade, effectively spearheaded the stakeholder engagement process, ensuring comprehensive collaboration and input #StandardsforQualityLife #QualityFirst #StandardsInnovation ^JKK
