Mitsubishi Electric Corporation has developed a receiving antenna prototype for global navigation satellite system (GNSS) applications. This developed antenna has adopted a unique T-branch antenna element which combines monopole and dipole modes, and antenna elements are formed the inner side of the resin cover based on a molded interconnect device technology (MID) in which electrodes, circuits, etc. are formed on the surfaces of three-dimensional molded-resin layers. Consequently, this unique design can acheive an expansion of the frequency bandwidth for low back-lobe radiation and a lower profile of approximately 40% compare to our previous prototype. Otherwise, it has several good features such as the decline of the necessary number of parts, the same impedance bandwidth as our previous prototype, and the improved assembly by forming feed interfaces at the base of each antenna element. It can be mounted on small mobile objects such as drones since no additional ground plates are required.

【Announcement】 Mitsubishi Electric announced today that its U.S. subsidiary Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc., headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, will invest approx. USD 86 million (approx. 12 billion yen) in advanced switchgear production and power electronics in the U.S. This investment is driven by the increasing demand for transmission and distribution grid products as the U.S. moves toward its renewable energy and decarbonization goals. Combined with Mitsubishi Electric’s investment in a factory in Japan, the Mitsubishi Electric Group’ total investment of approx.
