    This paper describes the Attitude Determination techniques implemented in the BeppoSAX Attitude and Orbit Control Ground Support System (AOCGSS) developed by TELESPAZIO to support the Attitude and Orbit Control Subsystem (AOCS) operations. Two different attitude determination software's have been developed. The first based on a Star Matching Algorithm using collected Star Tracker's (STRS) mapping data. The second adopting a Kalman Filter method to produce the best satellite attitude estimation.…

    MITA (Mini-Satellite Italiano a Tecnologia Avanzata) was developed with the prime contractorship of Carlo Gavazzi Space S.p.A. under an A.S.I. (Italian Space Agency) contract. Telespazio was responsible for the Ground Segment. The project's aim was to design,develop and implement a low cost platform for small Earth missions in order to support a wide range of applications. The configuration of the satellite main body was based on a cubic-shaped module,100 (kg) range, 3 axis stabilized and is…

The configuration of the satellite main body was based on a cubic-shaped module,100 (kg) range, 3 axis stabilized and is designed especially for Low Earth Orbit (LEO) missions with a lifetime of 3 to 5 years.

BeppoSAX has been developed with the support of a consortium of institutes in Italy and in The Netherlands and of the Space Science Department…

A collaboration with the Max Planck Institute for Extraterrestrial Physics also exists for X-ray mirror testing and the calibration of the concentrator/spectrometer system. Prime contractors for space and ground segments are Alenia Spazio and Telespazio respectively.
