Bengaluru-based AppsForBharat, which runs spiritual tech platform Sri Mandir, has secured $18 Mn (around INR 151.1 Cr) in a Series B funding round led by Nandan Nilekani’s VC fund Fundamentum 👇 AppsForBharat plans to use the fresh funds to scale up operations of its Sri Mandir app, onboard new temples, launch additional services and build a comprehensive tech stack for devotional ecosystem. We started with a simple question: What do we need to detect? Our goal was to spot fake ads in real-time, without slowing down the user experience. 2. 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐞. Social media platforms handle millions of ads daily. We made sure our system could scale, processing ads without missing a beat. 3. 𝐅𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐟𝐥𝐨𝐰. Every piece of data has a purpose. We mapped out how data moves through our system, from ad ingestion to final verification. This helped us spot weak points early. 4. 𝐊𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐢𝐭 𝐦𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫. We built the system in modules. Each one handles a specific task, like ad parsing or fraud detection. This makes it easier to update parts without breaking the whole. 5. 𝐓𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐬 𝐤𝐞𝐲. We put our design through rigorous testing. We used real ads and fake ones to see how well the system worked. The results? At Rio we are building a credit card but building any product requires deep user understanding. So who really are the existing credit card users in India? We break it down into four cohorts, The Convenience Users, Short Term Limit Users, The EMI Converter and The Revolver. The Convenience Seekers are consumers who prioritize convenience and often use their credit card for large purchases, and always paying their balances in full each month to avoid interest charges. Cashback or rewards cards are what attracts them towards choice of cards. They may never need anything related to “credit” in the card.  The Short term limit users need the credit card for paying their non discretionary/everyday purchases for managing their cash flows effectively. They mostly pay their balances full in each month, but depend on the Credit limit to ease out monthly payments. They may occasionally not be able to pay their balances fully. This forms the largest part of the “Transactors” Base (i.e - Those who repay Credit Card bills on time).  The EMI Converters are consumers who want to have an affordability for bigger-ticket purchases. For them, splitting their purchases into manageable monthly instalments, and credit cards with low or no-cost EMI options become their go-to choice. Finally, the Revolvers are consumers who tend to carry a balance on their credit card quite often, and depend on cards which may have lower fees or charges. Buying gold / silver coins on the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Trithiya come under low frequency - low complexity purchase category. It is a seasonal product bought generally during specific occasions. Zepto Blinkit Swiggy lapped up this opportunity and started selling this with the benefit of quick delivery. No wonder the sales picked up quite well. I wonder how much would it have impacted the sales of larger eComm players. Sales trends from swiggy is already out. Here we propose building AgNet: Network of Agents in India at billion unit scale. The key components can be borrowed from Open Network For Digital Commerce (ONDC) architecture to build on the learnings of already scaled network in India. > Agent Registry: This registry holds name, description, tags, id, endpoint, public key and organization name of participating agent > The api format between agents we propose a generic conversational format to take advantage of LLM. Hence agents talk to each other using human language format. This format we are internally calling at Plotch.ai as opengroc format. This avoids headache of poiint-to-point integration amongst agents. > All agents will need to be rated to build trust in the network > Rating, discovery, register and de-register apis can be opengroc format too (or can be structured format given they can be easily defined) Eric Broda, Pramod Varma and sujith nair are key inspiration behind this and most of the thoughts are borrowed (other than opengroc format). We at Plotch.ai are just trying to stitch this as a possibility. We can all build this network together.
