🚀 PSARA LICENSE 🚀 The Private Security Agencies Regulation Act (PSARA) governs the registration and licensing of private security agencies in India. To register a PSARA license, follow these general steps: 1. **Eligibility Check**:   - Ensure that the agency meets the eligibility criteria outlined in the PSARA Act, such as having a valid office address and qualified personnel. 2. **Documentation Preparation**:   - Prepare the necessary documents, which typically include:     - Application form (available from the relevant state authority).     - Proof of identity and address of the applicant (e.g., Aadhaar, passport).     - Proof of address of the office.     - Details of the security personnel to be employed.     - Financial statements or proof of financial stability.     - Criminal background checks for key personnel.     - Details of training programs for security personnel. 3. **Application Submission**:   - Submit the completed application form along with the required documents to the local licensing authority or the Department of Home Affairs in your state. 4. **Fee Payment**:   - Pay the prescribed application fee. Kudos to Telecom Regulatory Authority of India(TRAI) for taking decisive action against entities misusing telecom resources for #spam calls and #fraudulent activities! The directive to #telcos to disconnect and blacklist such entities for two years is a much-needed step to curb this menace. Preventing these blacklisted entities from obtaining new connections from any telecom service provider during the blacklisting period is an effective measure to restrict their ability to continue spamming consumers. The move to not deliver messages containing #URLs or #APKs that are not whitelisted from September 1 will help curtail online scams. Implementing entity and telemarketer chain binding for traceability of message flow by October 31 is another positive initiative. I applaud TRAI's efforts to engage with #telecom firms and get their commitment to fully support curbing spam calls and implement the directives within the specified timeframe. The dedicated 10-digit numbering series starting with 160 introduced by Department of Telecommunications ( DOT ) to identify genuine calls is also a welcome move. These concerted actions by TRAI and DoT demonstrate their commitment to protecting telecom consumers from the menace of spam calls, fraudulent activities and online scams. Kudos to the regulators for their proactive approach and to the telecom operators for their cooperation in implementing these measures. #spam #phishing #businessmessaging

Enclosed herewith for information is an article written by Mr. M.K. Narayanan in The Hindu (Aug 13, 2024). Two major takeaways are (1) Creating awareness about cybercrime and (2) Importance of the role of CISO. This takes me to the conference hosted by NASSCOM and FICCI on Aug 09, 2024 on resilience of cyber security in the manufacturing sector. This conference came in the wake of the release of the Karnataka Government's cybersecurity policy a few days earlier. I was part of a panel moderated by Col. Pavithran Rajan. It was a great learning curve for me listening to the distinguished experts and other eminent speakers. It is my assessment that the Karnataka Government's Cybersecurity policy is a step in the right direction and therefore deserves our congratulations and felicitations. It requires more public discussion and articulation to provide for proper understanding and implementation. Stakeholder participation is therefore very desirable. The focus of my presentation was on making MSME's cybersafe. In this connection, the Karnataka cybersecurity policy would do well to (a) set up a fund to help MSME's create Cybersecurity advisory services of "virtual" CISO, if they cannot afford one (b) encourage "Atmanirbharta" in creating awareness, capacity building, skills development by using local resources (c) provide advisory skills aimed to predict, prevent and protect critical assets from cyber attacks and (d) invest in strengthening law enforcement agencies in investigation and enforcement of criminal laws to ensure perpetrators do not go scott free. The other suggestion is to create a national agency on the lines of National Investigation Agency to tackle cybercrimes. One way forward is to observe October as CYBER SECURITY AWARENESS MONTH, which is an annual international event.
