Speed is a moat in of itself. This thread [1] does a great job of breaking that down But, speed / urgency is also a moat in sales. Sales teams that: - respond right away to an inbound lead - do same day follow ups - set up POCs in a day instead of a week just compete better. If one goes through the LinkedIn posts from #Xiaomi India in the last 2 months, one would see a lot of people being felicitated for the years they have spent in the company, on boarding of freshers and a lot of joinees at middle management level. Shows the focus they are putting on a mix of old employees, fresh talent and an experienced middle management which will continue the organisation on its current growth trajectory. While the ones in the middle management of years of experience across industries with them, one thing which stands out that close to 70% of these people have worked with #Samsung at some time. Speaks well for the pool of talent in Samsung. However in the short term, the migration will hurt Samsung at a time when they have moved down to the No. 3 position. Also speaks well for Xiaomi which is taking in a ready for action team which can take over senior positions in the near future. Your sales person Akash rajput (site 4, greater Noida)logged in my request on a false pretext and registration done on a wrong address. 1. Firstly I discussed about jio fibre which he agreed and even took time to confirm back. He then registered for jio air fiber.. which I objected to. 2. Secondly akash rajput assured that jio air fibre will be installed while confirming with me that I stay on the 11th floor and the society tower has 17 floors. He said no problem it will be done. 3. Thirdly the engineer came and said installation couldn't be done as jio fibre not available in my society ( today homes kings park, omega 1 , greater Noida- 201310). Even the air fibre can't be installed beyond the 6th floor. The issue is...what kind of mockery you people are running. Shall I be forced to go to the consumer forum for these frauds. my order is in hold status and i don't know about my refund. Near duopoly in telecom in India is hurting customers. Have paid a deposit to airtel for installing 2 Mesh but even after 8 weekes there is no update. Their customer support on app (essentially a bot which does not understand much) is pathetic. Their customer support exec are hard to reach- inspite of taped audio messages "this call is important to us, blah blah..." I've even writeen to their CEO, but no response. And BTW their broadband service keeps breaking down frequently. Jio takes a deposit to even register an enquiry for broadband connecttion, which we have paid. 3 weeks since, but no sign of any update from them about installation of the new connection. Who is an ideal Sales guy? An ideal Sales guy is the one who can convert a cold lead like (Abhi khareedna ni hai, abhi toh bass dekh hi rhe hainn) to Mam/Sir, anything you need I am just a phone call or an email away (Potential lead). Closure is not required on a first call. First call needs proper introduction, probing, pain point discussion, assurance, engagement and pitching the solution with the next steps. No rocket science, people buy from people not from the companies. #Salesareeasy

If you're considering buying an airtel product, don't. I've been trying airtel to cancel a service request I raised, and refund my money (as you may have read in my last post). The airtel team seem hellbent on ignoring my ask, and assigned an engineer to my request, who I spoke with today. After confirming the refund over mail a few days ago, I checked in on the same thread after today's call, and they continue to ask me for details I've already provided on the same damn e-mail thread, as if it is a conversation they don't have any context for. airtel's customer engagement teams are siloed across channels, i.e. email teams don't speak or exchange notes with voice process and social teams, and vice-versa. No one is willing to step up and solve my problem; they seem happy to commit to meaningless timelines while hiding behind anonymised handles. The audacity of it all is staggering, and I can't help but admire the lack of f**ks airtel has to give. That's oligopolies for you - few other options to choose from, so f**k the customer.

airtel is not keen on onboarding new prepaid customers, because they have 387.326 million customer base as of July 2024. 🤔 The Actual Problem airtel's prepaid portal has been down for the past 20 days (that's 1.5 sprints in tech lingo! 🏃‍♂️💨). Even airtel stores are unable to onboard new prepaid customers. 📞🙅‍♂️ 😒 The Ingenious Solution Sell postpaid SIMs instead, priced at a mere 2X the prepaid version (based on regular usage). 💸🤑 🤩 The Hidden Perk Customers stopped getting personal loan calls. 📞🙅‍♀️ Instead, they'll listen airtel jingle for the first 2-3 minutes of every call from a genuine-looking spam number (even bypassing, Truecaller 🤨). Mumbai never disappoints! (& I am not being sarcastic) I am not talking about the Mumbai traffic or roads either. We (Google & Adjust) conducted a closed door event focussed on App developers and Omni-channel partners. Response: way beyond inspiring. 50+ folks attended across sectors. One hardly gets the privilege of working with such an engaging audience. It was supposed to be that we would tell the audience about the best practices. what really happened? The audience taught us more through thought provoking questions and by sharing their on ground experiences. what did we discuss? 1. Play Store Listings - how we can personalize the play landing experience based on user searches or churned users or Google Ads. 2. Google App Campaigns - have tried targeting your churned users? have you tried our seasonality beta or video only App Campaigns? but those were just themes. we learnt more. We learnt about attribution issues especially if you're using affiliate partners. Or how sometimes it takes longer to scale on Google! 3 hours just flew by! An event to remember!
