This was indeed a mega roller coaster ride for me. If I had to put this in the theme of pursuit of happiness Q4 - FY22: DevRev went GA. I joined the founding sales team. This part of my life is "Pro was once a noobie" Q1 - FY23: Consistently created product awareness on LinkedIn using memes. 450K post impressions, 8K+ engagements to date. Opened Reddit as a marketing channel for DevRev prospecting and cracked an opp. This part of my life is "Building a personal brand from scratch" Q2 - FY23: Prospecting into the US market. Calling from a thick indian accent. Minimal win but fought hard. This part of my life is "Experiment - Fail - Repeat" Q3 - FY23: EMEA market opened and moved to it. Went through Yashvanth Rajendran SDR bootcamp with crafting personalization. Cracked cool logos with the right persona. This part of my life is "Learning from the Best" Q4 - FY23: Got invited for 4+ podcasts to speak about Meme Led Growth and Email personalization. This part of my life is "All Eyes on Me" Q1 - FY24: Flew Mumbai and Bangalore to represent DevRev at conferences. This was the first time for me. Oh boy, I am so grateful to DevRev for all these opportunities which helped me become a better SDR. This part of my life is "Dreams come true" Q2 - FY24: Moved back to India to prospect. Went the extra mile and cracked unicorns and enterprises with C suites using cold emails. This part of my life is "Consistency eats perfection for breakfast" Q3 - FY24: One closed won and sourced $600K + pipeline till date with 90+ completed demo. You Can Be an IITian Without Giving the JEE Examination So, what’s the first thing that comes to mind when you read the above line? SCAM, right? That’s because of the infamous incidents we’ve seen with some EdTech organizations. However, what I’m about to share is something completely legitimate, new, and something I’m certain most of you haven’t heard of. 1. Graduate from IIT Jodhpur Without Giving JEE First, let me clarify—this isn’t about bypassing the JEE to get into IITs. We all know IITs are among the most prestigious institutions in India, and the JEE is one of the toughest exams to crack. But if you believe you have the potential to thrive at an IIT and feel JEE is not your path, there’s a program that could help you land a seat at IIT Jodhpur—one of the renowned IITs. However, getting into IIT or any top university doesn’t guarantee a job or a successful career. That’s the key takeaway from the Podcast I recently heard between Ansh Mehra and Raghav Gupta. Don’t fall for the false narrative that a degree alone guarantees success. Ask yourself—who can truly secure your career and success, besides YOU? 2. What’s the Worst That Can Happen in the AI Era? We’ve all heard it—“AI won’t take your job, but the person who knows AI will.” But the reality is, the job market will redefine itself, and job roles will reduce in the near future. While motivation is needed, it’s equally critical to accept the truth and prepare for the challenges ahead. Those who understand AI infrastructure and how it impacts the world will be the true moneymakers—not those who use AI superficially or without depth. I had a conversation with my dad and cousin one evening, talking about life. My dad, unaware of AI and its implications, said something that stuck with me: “Ab machino ka zamaana aane waala hai. Log apna rutbaa (status) banaye rakhne ke liye, sab kuch karenge”. Raghav and Ansh discussed the very same thing—how people might engage in criminal activities just to maintain their lifestyle in the upcoming AI era. On July 7th, it marked one year since I completed my Bachelor's in Computer Science. Initially, I aimed to pursue an M Tech at IIT Madras, but circumstances changed, leading me to job hunting instead. As a tier-3 college student, we didn’t attract top companies. For two months, I searched for roles as a #backenddeveloper and #Associatesoftwareengineer, avoiding frontend roles. I have a deep interest in machine learning, but without structured learning, I only managed to learn a few algorithms. Seeking job referrals from seniors, I got minimal response. However, Ramu Mota introduced me to T-Hub, where I applied for various roles. I was selected as a #contentdeveloper, creating content for #Python, #machinelearning, and #competitivecoding. Not only that I tutored students in helping them understand programming and how to solve a problem in 3 different approaches. Although I delivered quality content, timely payment was an issue. I continued applying for jobs and, out of over 500 applications, I only secured one technical interview. Unfortunately, my O(N^2) solution to a DSA problem cost me a 7LPA offer. So, my dear connections keep on learning new stuff. Especially solving a real world problem. The "thought process" is what matters the most. No need to spend hours and hours to master something. Spend just 18-30mins to learn. Do this constantly. Consistency is one of the key to master something. If you are attending ICPR 2024 in the next 5 days (Dec 01-05), then do visit our poster titled: "waLLMartCache: A Distributed, Multi-Tenant and Enhanced Semantic Caching System for LLMs”; my co-author Binay Gupta will be presenting it. Our system waLLMartCache advances the GPTCache framework by incorporating the following features: 1. We introduce the support for a new database Redis in GPTCache – this is used as L2 cache in our designed system. 2. Currently, GPTCache is implemented to be run on a single node which we enhance to span across multiple nodes to handle industry-scale requests and consequently, we also designed a distributed eviction manager. 3. We further create partitions for individual tenants (clients) so that these can be hosted together while maintaining semantic separations. 4. We present a decision engine (i.e., an enhanced semantic similarity checker) that decides whether to cache an LLM response based on retail business use-cases. 5. We showcase that loading FAQs (which can be set to be stored persistently in the memory) while booting the LLM cache can be a simple yet effective strategy to boost cache hits significantly. Some of these contributions have already been merged with the open-source GPTCache code. Can PW (PhysicsWallah) build a sustainable Ed-Tech business? PW (PhysicsWallah) has launched the PW School of Startups to train mentors and fund budding entrepreneurs across India. They've set up a 100 crore fund to support at least 100 startups over the next 5 years. This initiative aims to create an affordable incubator and accelerator-like environment for young students who want to explore entrepreneurship. They're offering three programs ranging from just 5 days to 5 months tailored to different skill levels and interests. But that's not all because back in 2022, PW (PhysicsWallah) was just one of the few Ed-tech startups in the country that was profitable. They raised $100 million in their first and only VC funding round, turning them into a unicorn. But a lot has happened since then, they've made 11 acquisitions and spent or allocated 700 crores on new products in FY 24. However, per reports, they've even slipped into losses in FY 24, but one of the reasons for this is that PW (PhysicsWallah) is expanding pretty rapidly at this point. They have their school now, over 50 offline Learning Centers, and a tech skills and job discovery platform. They've used their funding to branch out into all things ed-tech, something we've seen BYJU'S and Unacademy attempt before. However, BYJU'S is now on the brink of collapse and Unacademy is reportedly considering a merger. PW (PhysicsWallah), now in the red, has probably used up most of its funding on these ambitious ventures. They're likely going to be raising $150 million to keep these initiatives going, and according to multiple reports, they might be close to securing this round. But here's the billion-dollar question that can come. PW (PhysicsWallah) succeeds where BYJU'S and Unacademy have failed, or are they making the same mistakes as their competitors by over-diversifying? What do you think? 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗱 2 NPTEL 𝗲𝘅𝗮𝗺𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 2 𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀! 🤯 Despite a hectic schedule and limited preparation time, I managed to pull through and achieve respectable scores in 𝗗𝗕𝗠𝗦 (68) 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 (72). H͟o͟w͟ ͟d͟i͟d͟ ͟I͟ ͟d͟o͟ ͟i͟t͟? • 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿: My friends ,Shashank Kotagi & Manish S M, were instrumental in helping me grasp the concepts. • 𝗖𝗿𝗮𝘀𝗵 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲: I focused on assignments, watched problem-solving sessions at 3x speed, and used other resources 𝗘𝘅𝗮𝗺 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀: Traveling 25 km to the exam center was quite the adventure! But the exam itself was manageable, similar to JEE Mains. Most were MCQ so finished it in under 1.5 hours. 𝗔 𝗕𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗠𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: While I missed the silver certificate by a narrow margin, I'm still proud of my achievement. A big thanks to Prof. Engr. Rakesh Kalshetty for recommending these courses. 𝗧𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗘𝘅𝗮𝗺 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀: 1. Complete assignments on time. 2. Watch lectures at 2x speed. 3. Practice with problem-solving sessions. 4. 3 students (NEET UG aspirants) have committed suicide in the past 24 hours There might be more students on the same path! But what exactly is happening? On 4th June NEET UG results were declared: - 67 students got 720/720 - Out of 67 students, 6 had sequential seat numbers and were from Haryana - And 8 students are from the same center To put things in perspective: (In 2021, 3 students secured 720/720 in the NEET exam In 2022, no student got 720/720 in the NEET exam In 2023, 2 students got 720/720 in the NEET exam) How is this possible? There must be some malpractice involved! Imagine scoring 670/720 is not enough to get into a good college NTA was supposed to declare the results of NEET on 14th June. They suddenly declared it on 4th June, the day of the election results. They thought that everyone would be busy with elections and nobody would get to know what happened. NTA is trying to hide something it seems! A Trusted body like NTA is now converted into a corrupt body NTA must answer the questions of NEET aspirants! This is a big scam for our country!

Zerodha Nithin Kamath Kailash Nadh I am writing to propose a feature enhancement that could significantly improve the user experience on your trading platform, particularly for long-term investors like myself and new traders. Feature Request: Configurable Segment Visibility for MIS and CNC Overview: I suggest introducing a configurable option within the user interface that allows users to toggle the visibility of MIS (Margin Intraday Square off) and CNC (Cash and Carry) segments. This feature would enable users to customize their trading view according to their investment strategy, thereby reducing the likelihood of accidental segment selection and subsequent trading errors. Benefits: Enhanced User Experience: By allowing users to configure their interface to show only the relevant segment, you can create a more streamlined and intuitive trading experience. For example, as a long-term investor, I primarily use the CNC segment and would prefer to hide the MIS option to avoid any inadvertent selections. Error Prevention: This feature would help prevent scenarios where users, especially new ones, might mistakenly select the wrong segment (e.g., buying a larger quantity under the MIS segment due to its higher leverage), leading to potential financial losses. Customization: Providing this flexibility caters to diverse trading strategies and preferences, making the platform more user-friendly and accommodating to both novice and seasoned traders. Proposed Implementation: Settings Configuration: Add an option in the settings menu where users can enable or disable the visibility of the MIS and CNC segments. User Interface: Modify the buy/sell interface to respect these settings, displaying only the selected segments. Default Setting: By default, both segments can be visible, ensuring no disruption to existing users. However, users can personalize this according to their preferences from the settings. Example Use Case: As a long-term investor focused on CNC, I would navigate to the settings, toggle off the MIS segment, and henceforth only see CNC when placing orders. This configuration ensures that my trading is aligned with my strategy, and it mitigates the risk of unintentional high-leverage trades. I believe this feature will greatly enhance the usability of Zerodha's platform and cater to a wider range of user preferences, ultimately fostering a more user-centric trading environment.

Why B.Pharm at BITS Pilani? While selecting colleges a year ago, I didn’t have very good marks in BITSAT (175/390) (reasons? lite, stories I just don’t want to recall...). So, my choices were MIT and VIT, but I had an interest in the business world, I was drawn to BITS’ startup culture, something I discovered through online resources and videos. Seeing folks building things, always working on something, and the overall energy was very fascinating to me. I sat down and asked myself what I really wanted to do: - I’m not inclined towards pursuing a job. - I have an interest in the startup world. - I like to create, manifest, and explore. - I want to meet great, passionate people and have access to a strong network. - I enjoy coding and can teach myself with the resources available. - I’ll have free time to build my own path and develop skills. Hmm, I just followed my gut, and it led me to BITS. :) Hope, i will stop getting this question from now on...

After graduating from IIT & landing my first job, I felt frustrated, stressed & overworked. It took me a while to understand why. New hires are often handed undefined tasks without metrics to measure progress yet expected to perform. But here’s the truth: Without clarity, success is just a vague concept. As leaders, it is our responsibility to clarify expectations & metrics from the beginning. → Be open about the goals. Make it clear to new team members what success looks like in their roles. → If you're taking a risk on a new project, acknowledge it. Be transparent about the bet you're making & share the potential outcomes. For a new hire, success isn’t just about hitting targets but understanding the journey. This is not a LeetCode update, just my thoughts on IIT Kanpur. People often think that IIT as a college is responsible for the good placements of its students, but I believe the students themselves are responsible for their future. When I entered a café at IIT Kanpur, I saw five people, each with a laptop, solving five different problems. Do you think their professors forced them to do this? Definitely not. They are concerned about their future, and that concern is visible in their actions. Many believe that only students with sharp minds can clear JEE, but I think it's the students who are deeply worried about their future who succeed. The idea of a 'blunt mind' is a myth—it all comes down to the willpower of the student. Now, why do people say students should return to their rooms by 7 p.m.? Ever thought about it? The common belief is that a student won't be productive late at night. But at IIT Kanpur, I've seen robotics labs, music rooms, and other spaces filled with students even after 2 a.m. There are no restrictions because the administration knows the majority of these students won’t engage in unproductive activities like smoking or drinking. They are IITians, and they understand the difference between short-term pleasure and long-term happiness. In contrast, at many other colleges, restrictions are necessary because fewer students have that same drive. Speaking of the environment, when I was in my own college, seeing a classmate with 20 solved LeetCode problems made me feel like I was working hard enough (like the saying in Hindi, "andho mein kaana raja"). But the environment at IIT Kanpur pushed me to work harder on LeetCode. While working on VR here, I solved 50 questions last week, making it one of the most productive weeks of my life. The Virtual Labs team didn’t just teach me Unity or Unreal, but also valuable life lessons. They’re my super seniors, all in their fourth year. Are they IITians? No, but they are filled with motivation, and I’m sure they’ll secure placements similar to IITians. That’s because placement is not determined by the prestige of the college, but by one’s learning ability and concern for the future. Students should focus on their studies instead of distractions like girlfriends or boyfriends. But what if both are solving LeetCode questions together at night, rather than wasting time on meaningless talks? Isn't that productive? At IIT Kanpur, I’ve even seen couples in the open auditorium, not engaging in inappropriate behavior, but discussing problem-solving logic. In conclusion, if someone has the motivation to succeed, they will find a way, no matter which college they attend. The reason IIT has so many students with this mindset is because of the rigorous filtering process of the JEE exam. I wish I had someone to guide me earlier in life—maybe I could have become an IITian. The JEE (advanced) results came out day before yesterday and the family WhatsApp groups are abuzz with concerned parents asking if their child, who scored a rank of 2000 something, should take a drop so that they can get into a better IIT with a CS branch next year or should they 'settle' for any of the new IITs. I think (and I hope) that over time this obsession with top IITs would reduce and people would realise that in today's age, opportunities are increasingly democratized and not limited to few campuses anymore. Satya Nadella is an alumnus of Manipal Institute of Technology; Ashok Elluswamy is from College of Engineering, Guindy (the campus right across Indian Institute of Technology, Madras where I studied) and the majority of the scientists and engineers behind ISRO - Indian Space Research Organization's historic moon landing were not from IITs. Again, anecdotes should not be generalized, and it is true that on an average a student from a top tier-IIT has access to better opportunities than others. But a) these anecdotes are increasing in numbers and b) The opportunities for your/my child to become that anecdote are galore today. Growing awareness of this would hopefully take some pressure off the kids AND their parents and would help them believe that not making it to an IIT (or for that matter failing any one exam or interview) is not the end of anything ❤️

Hello everyone, I am giving simpler explaination of the questions that are coming under ICPC - International Collegiate Programming Contest India Preliminary 2024 💹 Here's a simpler explanation of how I solved the problems: In the first question, finds a subset of numbers whose bitwise AND equals a target value K, first optimize by filtering numbers that have all of K's bits set, then use dynamic programming with bitmasks to build possible combinations, for each filtered number,tries combining it with existing combinations to generate new AND values, ultimately checking if K can be achieved, outputs "YES" along with the subset's size and indices if found, or "NO" if impossible. In the second question, construct an array res of size n such that it satisfies k constraints, each specifying a range [l, r] and a value x, for each constraints if x == n, at least one element in the range must differ from n, otherwise elements in the range should ensure that the minimum value does not exceed x, constraints are processed in ascending order of x to prioritize smaller values and adjust the array accordingly while maintaining validity, constraint cannot be satisfied, the solution is deemed impossible, and the output is -1. In the third question, prints -1 if k exceeds the maximum possible pairs (n*(n-1)/2), otherwise builds the array using large prime numbers from the end of the list when needs many prime pairs, (when k >= n-1, as each prime creates n-1 prime pairs with other numbers) and using smaller numbers, when fewer prime pairs are needed, effectively constructing an array with exactly k prime pairs. In the fourth question, find the maximum number of indices where the chosen value (either first[i] or second[i]) is less than or equal to the sum of the two largest values chosen, use of dynamic programming where the state is maintained using a tuple of the two largest values seen so far (mx1, mx2), and for each new index, tries both possible values (first[i] or second[i]) and keeps track of how many times the condition third[i] <= mx1 + mx2 is satisfied, updating the two largest values seen so far and the count of satisfying indices, storing these states. 🚀 Young Professionals, Don’t Treat Your First Job Like a JEE Exam! 🚀 I’ve noticed many young people in India aiming only for FANG or other big tech companies as their first job, treating it like a JEE exam. While aiming high is great, it doesn’t have to be the only path. Your early career years (3-6 years) are the perfect time to dive into startups or smaller companies where you can put in the hard work, explore different roles, and truly make an impact. Working in startups can be incredibly rewarding—both in terms of experience and compensation. Many well-funded startups pay competitively, often offering salary packages that rival big tech companies. Plus, they might offer stock options, giving you a chance to own a piece of the company and benefit from its growth. While very early-stage startups might have limited resources, once a startup has some funding, it can pay really well. Trust me, the growth potential is immense—you become far more productive, and develop expertise across multiple domains. When you're young, you have the energy and drive to hustle and create real impact. Startups give you the chance to: 1. Work on What You Love: In a startup, you often have the freedom to work on exciting projects and learn the latest technologies. Why do we stress and burden students so much if they don't clear IIT-JEE? While it is true that getting into an IIT offers early advantages, I have seen the below pattern many times: (a) Many students who get into IIT feel like they have been released from the prison of coaching classes. Now they are finally free. The fire and passion is completely missing in those 4 important years of undergraduate study. (b) Many students who do not get into IIT as termed by society as failures. They use that as a fire to work very hard, discover their passion and do impactful things. The final result is that: if you look 5-6 years into the future, the career position of both the above type of students is approximately similar. We don't need to stress and burden students so much if they don't clear IIT-JEE. It is important to have a long term career vision. While clearing IIT-JEE certainly has it's advantages and can open doors, you can view your career as a marathon. You can always learn, work hard and catch up later. Knowledge has become so accessible now. Even if you don't clear IIT-JEE, you can learn to write a research paper, contribute to Github projects, email professors for internships and work in a startup! Don't let societal tags define your true potential. P.S: Parents of kids who pressurize students into clearing IIT-JEE need to have a long term vision. Maybe the attached image will help!

The conditions of Tier 3 + colleges in India are pathetic! Something needs to change. Just listing a few things I faced as a student in a tier 3 college- 1) Discrimination on the grounds of college. I remember going for competitions in tier 1 and 2 colleges and they're absolutely "racist" against us. 2) Academics over Development Focus on stone-set curriculums, not giving a student the space to explore and experiment. 3) Lack of Skill Based Workshops Compared to Tier 1 and 2 colleges, Tier 3 colleges lack the exposure to skill based workshops required in the industry. 4) Placements suck. Even above average students at Tier 3 colleges have a hard time in finding companies to hire them. A lot of them are way more skilled than average students at Tier 1 and 2 colleges.
