I have always believed that it's the small acts that accumulate to create significant environmental impacts and at Intellion offices, we are doing the same. At Intellion Edge and Intellion Park, we've embraced this philosophy by replacing water bottles with Digital Filtered Drinking Water Stations. This change ensures that our employees and occupiers enjoy safe and clean drinking water, while also addressing larger environmental concerns. The results of this initiative are profound: - 408,000 plastic bottles have been eliminated. - 646 kg of CO2 emissions have been avoided. This is a prime example of how small, practical changes in our operations can lead to substantial benefits for both our planet and our communities. Thank you Jombay and the super host Rex Fernandes for having me as a panelist today morning. I had the honor of being alongside Chinmaya Mohanty, Shirin Salis, and Sushil Baveja, where we explored the theme of “Collaborative Mindset in the Context of Synergistic Thinking and Systems Thinking” for young HR professionals. It was an enriching conversation, and I’m thrilled to share some key takeaways that resonated with the audience: 1️⃣ Great Ideas Don’t Have to Be Yours: True collaboration starts with humility—recognizing that the best ideas can (and often do) come from others. 2️⃣ From Concept to Execution: While strategy and planning are crucial, real impact is only achieved through disciplined execution. This cannot be done alone. 3️⃣ Business Acumen is Non-Negotiable: To be an effective HR leader, understanding the business and its financials is essential. This is how HR earns a seat at the table. 4️⃣ Collaboration Can Be Simple: Sometimes, it’s as straightforward as picking up the phone, having an honest conversation, and aligning efforts. Karnataka is the clear leader in terms of GCC headcount and real estate utilization. The state contributes approximately 47% to the GCC sector employment and around 40% to the country’s GCC real estate occupancy. In our engagements with global clients regarding center setups or expansions, Bangalore is consistently chosen as a prime location. This is despite ongoing complaints about the city’s rising talent costs, industry saturation, traffic, and road infrastructure issues. However, following the state government’s recent proposal of a reservation bill, our clients have urged us to consider other cities more seriously. Discussions have shifted towards ensuring similar talent availability through a combination of cities skilled in specific processes, tier 1/2 city hub-and-spoke models, virtual models for nationwide talent access, or partnerships with providers. Additionally, neighboring states have approached us to promote their GCC hotspots, offering competitive incentives such as training rebates, tax rebates, employment benefits, and economical premium infrastructure. This situation reminds me of the mid-2000s when Bengaluru’s poor infrastructure allowed other states to attract major hi-tech brands.
