Enterprise tech startup Clueso (YC W23) has raised $1.4 Mn (about Rs 11.6 Cr) in its seed funding round, led by f7 Ventures. The round also saw participation from existing backer Y Combinator. Clueso leverages generative AI (GenAI) to help companies create instructional videos and documentation for employee training and customers. Clueso claims that its AI auto-removes fumbling and rewrites the transcript to cover the same content 60% of the time and replaces the audio track with a “professional, natural-sounding AI voiceover”. Besides, it also creates a written article for every video with screenshots and GIFs. Clueso was also selected in the winter cohort of Y Combinator’s early-stage startup accelerator program in April 2023. With its participation in the three-month-long initiative, the startup netted an investment of $500K. The fundraise comes at a time when the Indian GenAI market is heating up in terms of investments. We have tuned the model for women health use cases like - period tracking & PCOS management. Some interesting features: 1. 𝐌𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢 𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧 - We use a multi agent design to break problems into sub tasks that are handled by separate agents. It’s as if multiple LLMs are working in a team. Using a single agent had a whole lot pf problems like - hallucination, forgetting & recency bias. 2. Uses 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐚 - The agent taps into a structured database like Firestore or MongoDB. Not a vector database. Keeping the data structured helps the user interact easily with traditional product flows, and we have given the LLM 𝑡𝑜𝑜𝑙𝑠 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑟𝑢𝑛𝑡𝑖𝑚𝑒 to fetch the information as needed. - You can see in the 𝐆𝐈𝐅 the user asks for their period information. This is fetched from the db, formatted and presented. 3. 𝐄𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐬 - The architecture of the bot is easily scalable to other usecases like customer support bot, app guide etc. There are numerous applications of LLMs in healthcare. Volt VC, an Ahmedabad-based micro venture capital firm founded by Param Patel, has introduced its inaugural fund, Volt VC Fund-1, aiming to raise Rs 45 crore. The worst-kept secret in retail is that retailers are overstocked. Buyers mistook COVID-19 growth for marketing skills. It was luck. Founders have lost their brands because of this. The biggest lie is that the root cause of this issue has been fixed. The second biggest lie is that there is an easy fix. Inventory Planning Software is not a new category. It pre-dates DTC, but DTC demand dynamics have certainly stirred the pot. It is incredibly nuanced, and each software has its place in the market depending on a brand size, sales channels, product types and categories, seasonality, assortment, continuity of products and growth rate. That's before you consider integration to your Ecommerce platform, ERP or WMS. Yikes. No wonder Operators burn more time reviewing these solutions than any other. The vendors find this tough, too. Works well with NetSuite in particular. It's a solid option you have an ERP-stack. Madden Analytics. Fashion-focused merchandise solution. I've got a demo lined up next week. The hottest tip outside these solutions is Klaviyo waitlists and using pre-orders on new products to gauge demand and reorder before they land. Priya: “Remember Quibi? The short-form streaming platform that raised $2 billion only to crash and burn in six months?” Amit: “How could I forget? But wasn’t their whole idea—quick bites of content on mobile—a good one? People are obsessed with short videos now.” Priya: “Exactly! The concept was solid, but the product decisions? Not so much. One of their biggest missteps was locking all their content behind a paywall with no free tier.” Amit: “Wait, they didn’t offer even a single free episode? Not even ads-supported content?” Priya: “Nope. They banked on the idea that people would pay $5–$8 a month upfront for content they’d never seen before from a brand they didn’t know.
