Hello everyone! These past 5 months of 2024 may have gone away too fast for you; but for me it was a slow strive towards building something ↗ The last time I talked of my progress, Ascendio Media was still just an infant - an agency started from my insane urge to build brands and tell their stories. From there we have come a long way - ◾We have worked with severable notable clients and delivered results as asked and beyond ◾We have taken up various challenges, sometimes even beyond our capacities and still have seen them through ◾We have now become a team of 9 people, building intensely and creatively, no matter the scale of the work ◾We have attained big monetary figures but even bigger personal and professional wins This is not to say that it was all a walk through the garden; there were some pretty nerve racking days We have been overworked, underpaid and sometimes even straight up exploited but I think, just like in life, challenges in your workplace is also just the next step to growth that you can’t bypass. But all in all, it was a once in a lifetime experience that I wouldn’t trade in for comfier days. Here’s to ascending to greater heights with Ascendio Media! Facebook audience selection is tough. I thought so too but let's talk about what's important since some of you guys asked me about it. Basics - 1. Audience Interest - Don't overcomplicate it. Keep it broader so that you have a higher chance of reaching a volume. 2. Creative - What works for us is brighter colour copies so maybe try A/B testing with your ad creatives. 3. Copy - Here's a tip on our copies, generally it's the second thing people see. We call out our TG eg. If you cater to Architects then your opening statement should be "Are you an Architect looking for xyz?/ Hey Architects," This is a lot more personalised to filter out people in a broader audience set. These are the 3 pillars that we follow in MARQN's ad sets. And it's a lot of trial and error so just go back and forth with these pillars and see what works for you and your clients.

As a top of the funnel we have been running “Free session” campaigns for Blusteak Academy , finally got some decent amount of attendees. The following were the learnings: - Initially we were only offering offline free sessions, but faced low attendance due to travel, location etc (Topic - free digital marketing session) - Then tried out a sunday online session with the same topic. Didn’t see much traction (Either due to the timing - it was morning and /or due to the topic) - Third time, we changed the topic to “AI in digital marketing” and changed the timing to weekday night - 8:30 pm - this combo gave us the least cost per lead and highest attendance

You only need 10 high-ticket clients to run an agency. 90% of the freelancers and agencies cannot scale beyond 1L-2L INR. Because they focus too much on selling. Instead of focusing on solving the challenges clients are facing. Here are 3 types of risks you need to address: 1) Financial risks: How will they receive an ROI on the amount they are spending on you? 2) Time and Effort Risk: The time, resources, and efforts they’ll invest in you - is it worth it? 3) Reputation risk: How will your work impact their business and image in the market? Understand that someone running a business worth crores and giving you time to hear your pitch is 100% interested in your services. You only focus on showing them why you are good. And that’s the wrong card to play. Show them how you can impact their business and growth. That’s when they’ll buy from you. What’s your biggest risk as a freelancer on sales calls?

Ok DTC guys let me put this straight, you don't have to add both cold and retargeting audience in the same PMax asset group. Because by doing this you will never know the true ROAS of your individual audiences. And hence you won't know whether to scale the campaign in case of cold audience. And you won't know which creatives are relevant for retargeting audiences. I see a lot of lazy marketers putting all possible audiences into a single PMax asset group. Pls don't be lazy

Where do the best kind of marketers come from? IIMs? MICA? IITs? DU? So far in my short career, I have had the honor to hire and work with Senior Creative Directors as well as freshers. The best kind of marketers surprisingly have been freshers, with no credentials or a degree to show but have spent atleast a few years at one company. These folks go on to either build their own firms or become insane assets at another. That’s it for Day 4 of #100DaysAgencyOfAgency. If you’re looking to hire great marketing talent, degrees generally aren’t the best way to go about it. So far, it has worked well at Marty Martin.

🚨 May be this post might trigger some of the agencies who are looting clients 🚨 Last month, I onboarded a client and found their ROAS below 0.5 with sales at 3 Lakhs despite offers. They were wasting money on ineffective ads. After some basic optimizations, I improved their ROAS to 1.3 in just 8 days with slight reduction in spend. Seeing the growth, the client trusted me and showed me their previous month's MIS report, revealing they were paying a creative agency 3 Lakhs per month for AI-generated, static social media posts and ad creatives that too without videos and UGC's and each costing Rs. 4500. Only 10% of these were used by their performance marketing agency. I showed them they had been scammed by two agencies for a year. By optimizing campaigns and implementing a revenue-sharing model, I reduced their costs from 8 Lakhs to 2.5 Lakhs, including my fee, while achieving a consistent ROAS of 1.9.
