🤔 If you are making an api call through some function, (F) which is giving back an observable to you. And you are observing neither an error nor any api log in your browser network tab. There are high chances, you are not subscribing to the observable returned by above function F 😜 Write in comments, how many times this happened to you ❓ 👉 And of course, the reason behind this behaviour is due to the fact that observables are lazy and do not stream data until there is any subscriber added. #rxjs

If the large IT services companies reinvest 5-10% of their profits into their employees’ pay, all their junior to mid professionals could earn a lakh more annually. But they don’t. As an example, Infosys clocked 26,232 Cr in Net Profit in FY24. It’s ~2.5x higher than ten years ago. CEO’s salary has grown commensurately from 30 Cr to 66 Cr in this period, while junior software professionals’ pay has barely grown. Infosys has about 300,000 software professionals on their payroll. I’m assuming 200,000 would be relatively junior folks. Hypothetically, just 7.5% of Infosys’ profits reinvested can help these 200,000 professionals earn a lakh more. The story is similar across all IT services companies. Since these companies compete for the same talent, won’t some of them offering a higher pay attract and retain better people, and deliver better services? Or is it a cartel-like arrangement to keep pay low? I’m curious.

That's a great comparison of Taxation & how it affects Employees of different regions. This isn't just it for taxation, its just a tax on income. Apart from this We pay GST on everything - food, groceries, gadgets, travel, medicine etc. Plus we also pay VAT in Fuel. If we buy any luxury product, it commands extra taxes then regular. In conclusion Indians employee are paying almost 50% of earning in taxes. In return we're not getting anything from government. That is bit shameful & people should think on it.

90%+ of engineers I hired in India did not have this skill - Writing automated tests. They did not write exhaustive test cases in their previous job. The most common reasons were: - We did not have time to write them - We did not follow this practice in our company - Management wanted us to move us faster Writing automated tests does take 20-25% of extra time spent in development. So why invest in them? 1. It helps everyone to sleep better at nightbehavior 2. It helps to ship new releases and enhancements factor. Any unintentional changes are caught by automated tests 3. It helps with code refactoring over time 4. It helps to onboard new engineers faster, specs often help as a way to better learn the software behaviour After 2-3 months of dev, the software quickly becomes a deck of cards that can crumble easily without automated tests. Make it a priority. Your lead, manager, CXO, and customers are going to thank you for it (though it may take time for that to come :) )
