Since the time I have been on linkedin and searching for jobs time to time, I have seen many job openings as “Entry Level” and then in the qualifications section they mentioned the required years of experience is 2+. In some cases I have seen 5+ too. I don’t under whats the point of these? Do they just want to lure more candidates and stack up their CV or what? Its being a scam lately. Another scam is, posting a hybrid job, and then when the candidate signs the offer letter they say they have to come to office everyday. If they want employees to come to office everyday why they just don’t label the job as “In-office” rather than “Hybrid”?

How to ask for a referral? Most of the people don’t know the right way to ask for a referral on LinkedIn!! You will never get referral if you send messages like these: I mostly get messages like - " please refer me " - "Refer me I am the good fit for the role, i am so and so start coder on xyz website " - "is there any opening for me in your company?” - “Messages without job id and resume” Also just Don't just send 'hi/hello' Send a message with the job ID, your experience, skills, and resume drive link. Finding the right person is also very important Ask referral from: People in your existing network, Alumni or previous company colleagues Someone having lesss connections And lastly follow up once or twice I hope this helps, and will get you more replies. 𝑰𝒔 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒒𝒖𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒋𝒐𝒃 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒆 𝒊𝒔 𝒈𝒐𝒐𝒅 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒄𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒆𝒓 ?  If you need to understand this , you should think about various reasons as hiring manager. There can be several possibilities . 1: If person is frequently changing job within < 12 months period, hiring manager may doubt about his/her technical or soft skills. Such folks must work on both technical and soft skills. If they are not able to finish work within given time , they may face issue everywhere. 2: I noticed that job change in 2-3 years is common for technical and financial growth. You may also find 30+ years experience folks in the same MNC because organization take care of technical and financial growth. 3: If someone didn't work in similar domain, s/he may face problem in getting job after 6 years because expected salary will be greater than relevant experience. Few other observations 1: One of my connection once said " You are doing business " . I don't see anything bad with this. I know many working professionals do the same as part time in Edutech companies headed by non-engineering or non-technical person. On the other hand, I have 30+ yrs experience and I do only teaching , mentoring , recruitment and technical support. 2: Investment in the education is the best investment because you get learning for lifetime. Recently I denied one student for enrollment and suggested some soft skill improvement before joining. If someone is not getting job for last six month , s/he should try interview preparation and mock-up interview. There is lot of competition and one must be well prepared before applying. The unemployment issue is real, and COVID's impact on education still lingers. With fewer tech placements, or hardly any, many students are struggling, even toppers are without jobs in some colleges. Most companies offer non-tech roles like sales during placements, pushing students to come to Bangalore, hoping to find tech jobs by joining training institutes. It’s a tough reality check on the gap between education and industry needs. Many students enrolled in these training programs focus more on theory, but during interviews, we're more interested in how you apply what you have learned to solve real problems. Even when we ask theory questions, we expect candidates to relate their answers to real-world scenarios. The key is to practice, practice, practice! Regularly commit to GitHub, create portfolio projects, and get noticed in the crowd.
