Kerala's vision of becoming an industrial powerhouse is steadily advancing with the Kochi-Bengaluru Industrial Corridor project. A key milestone in this journey is the formation of a dedicated task force to oversee the implementation of the Palakkad Integrated Manufacturing Cluster, a cornerstone of the corridor. This task force, led by Principal Secretary (Industries) A.P.M. Muhammad Haneesh IAS, alongside KSIDC Managing Director S. Harikishore IAS, KINFRA Managing Director Santosh Koshy Thomas, and KINFRA General Manager Ambili, will play a pivotal role in ensuring the timely and effective execution of the project. Their expertise and leadership are crucial as we move forward in this transformative phase. The Palakkad Manufacturing Cluster, which recently received the green light from the Central Government, is set to be a game-changer for Kerala's industrial sector. With an anticipated investment of ₹10,000 crore, the cluster is expected to generate over 50,000 direct jobs, significantly boosting employment opportunities in the state. This cluster is strategically designed to focus on high-growth sectors such as food processing, pharmaceuticals, defence, and aerospace, offering immense potential for industrial enterprises. One of the standout features of this project is the proactive approach taken by the Kerala government. The acquisition of 1,710 acres of land was completed in record time, showcasing the state’s commitment to facilitating industrial development. The government has already invested ₹1,790 crore in these initial procedures, underscoring the seriousness with which this project is being pursued. With the master plan and Detailed Project Report (DPR) now finalized, the stage is set for the commencement of the tender process. This will invite global participation, bringing in top-tier expertise and investment to further accelerate the project's progress. The project will be implemented through the Kerala Industrial Corridor Development Corporation, a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) with equal shares held by the central and state governments. KINFRA, the nodal agency for the project, has been instrumental in the land acquisition process and will continue to play a key role as the project moves forward. Moreover, the project area is set to receive special industrial township status, with a single window clearance system being established to streamline procedures for entrepreneurs and investors. This will create a business-friendly environment, making it easier for industries to set up and operate within the cluster. As we eagerly await the approval of the prestigious Global City, formerly known as GIFT City, we are confident that the Palakkad Manufacturing Cluster will be a beacon of industrial excellence. This project is not just about infrastructure; it is about creating a thriving ecosystem that will drive innovation, economic growth, and job creation in Kerala. #ComeOnKerala

Have you ever lost track during a project because you didn't have the information you needed handy? India-based L&T Energy Hydrocarbon (LTEH) - an EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) company that provides integrated ‘design-to-build’ solutions for large and complex #hydrocarbon projects around the world - faced the same challenge, managing projects with up to 27 different unconnected systems. To boost renewable energy in India's #TamilNadu, IFC is working with the Tamil Nadu Infrastructure Development Board and Tamil Nadu Green Energy Corporation to structure a pumped storage #hydropower project as a #PPP in the town of Velimalai. IFC will advise on a competitive process to select an experienced developer to raise private finance, construct, operate, and maintain the project. Tamil Nadu is a leading state in India in #renewableenergy capacity. With the capacity of 1100 MW, the project aims to provide additional power during peak demand and supports the state’s plan to generate 50% of its energy through renewable energy sources by 2030.
