Why SAP Freshers are not hired - Economics Over Emotions.?? The SAP ecosystem is going through a unprecedented wave of intense activity. With over 70% of ECC customers yet to switch to S4 HANA + net new customers upgrading to S4 HANA from other classic ERPs, SAP partners are running a mad scramble to onboard SAP end clients. With the 2027 deadline nears as the pendulum swings, SAP clients have to upgrade to S4 HANA through a brownfield or a greenfield implementation approach. The S4 HANA Implementations are time bound projects which are fast paced and mentally taxing on the consultants. The Consultants have to deliver the promised configurations on-time. SAP clients expect maximum output through minimal discussions with the SAP consultants. Imagine the entry of freshers in such a fast paced turnkey SAP transformation project where very basic and fundamental questions are asked to the client. The meeting room is filled with newcomers who do not understand what does it mean to draft MoM. The entire momentum of the SAP implementation will be classically killed. Once upon a time ( fifteen years back) freshers were hired as majority of the projects were SAP ECC support projects. Genuine SAP certified freshers were able to gradually transform into SAP consulting. But that was then. With SAP implementations becoming the order of the day, its increasingly difficult to accommodate fresher positions in SAP projects. Moreever, the quality of SAP freshers have deteriorated clinically in the past decade, jaywalkers learning SAP from random shacks for as less than 10 USD ( less than a Ice-laden Starbucks Frappuccino ) are calling themselves SAP freshers. SAP is a different ball game, it’s like zooming past the hard corners at 180 kms/ hr or playing a 18 hole golf game with a long shot strategy. You need to move with authority and command your moves. Bluffing may open the first or the second door but it will never open the third door. Knowledge is the only door opener. Learn the game before you make your moves. Rather than asking who moved my cheese, it’s time to say ‘ I moved YOUR cheese. #Lalji

Here in Chapter - 2 Ram Kaka further explained about the key data in SAP IS-U: 👉1. Business Master Data: ⚡️- Business Partner: Information about the people or organizations using the services. It is stored in tables like BUT000 and other BUT* tables. ⚡️- Contract Account: Details about how the customer's account is treated, such as billing terms. This data is stored in tables like FKKVK and FKKVKP. 👉2. Technical Master Data: ⚡️- Connection Object: Locations where services are provided, such as a building or streetlight. This data is stored in tables like ADRC. ⚡️- Premise: Places where energy or water is provided, such as an apartment or factory. This data is stored in tables like EVBS. ⚡️- Installation: Groups of devices that belong to the same division and premise. This data is stored in tables like EANL. 💪💡Ramu Kaka also described other important terms: ⚡️- Device Location: Where devices are placed within a connection object, similar to functional locations. ⚡️- Device: Tools like meters and controllers. ⚡️- Rate Category: A category given to each utility installation for different rates. ⚡️- Rate Type: A classification that helps set billing rates. SAP Consulting is a vast area and it has undergone a lot of changes in the past few years after the advent of SAP S/4 HANA. The previous ECC version to which clients have been used to now have to mandatorily move towards SAP S/4. From organizations which are already seeing a value, this is a blessing in disguise and the ones who are going to take the leap and in planning phase, would eventually be able to feel and materialize the blessings.   SAP S/4 in no ways something is an upgraded version of past ECC. It is a new product altogether with computing technology. Obviously, there is so much apart from it. The way the technology in SAP has evolved over the years with look and feel to the user friendliness, it is mind boggling. There has been a surge in applications being acquired by SAP which truly makes the SAP S/4 being an end-to-end solution for a business. Business doesn't need to go to any other organization for an application anymore like database or integrated solutions.   Do you know when I learned SAP the first time in 2008, what did I learned the 1st day. On 14th April 2008 when my SAP journey started, I gathered to pronounce SAP as "SAP" and not "sap". For people who are new to this technology, SAP is said in 3 words S A P and not a single word. In the early stages of my career, I made an imp decision to transition from a mechanical engineering field to a career in SAP. This decision raised questions, & I understand why, it was a significant change. Here is why I made the move: 1. There are two categories among SAP consultants 1. Consultants who promise more and deliver less - These are the people who claim multiple modules, demonstrate their knowledge and authority in their claims and later, deliver less or try the escape route or finally end up with escalations resulting in exit. 2. Consultants who promise less but deliver more - These are the people who don't make false claims, stick to what they know, try their.best to learn continuosly and keep delivering better results. Companies (clients) these days are expecting multiple module knowlegde, so they can hire one in place of two and save money. This is a dangerous trend as it not only beats the ERP protocol, but also exploits labour. Dear Consultants : Where do you belong ?? I was exploring how SAP Activate project management methodology is being implemented for S/4 HANA and other implementation projects. It was an interesting concept and how Agile methodologies are integrated to SAP projects to implement the projects with low risks and faster turn around times. SAP Activate is aligned with global project management standards like PMI- PMBOK. The methodology consists of six phases, including Discover, Prepare, Explore, Realize, Deploy, and Run. The best practices, Tools and Activate methodology are the 3 Pillars of Activate framework which help in accelerating the project execution. SAP Has Over 15,000 Customers in India by Anil B. Marali MLE℠ 80% of SAP’s customers in India are small and midsize businesses. India is a sweet spot for German tech conglomerate SAP. With over 15,000 customers based in India and over 425,000 globally, the company’s second-largest R&D centre outside Germany is in Bengaluru. “India is a big volume market. It plays a pivotal role in SAP’s global operations since over 80% of our business in India caters to the European market,” Subbu Ananth, CRO, SAP BTP, APJ, told AIM at the company’s flagship event SAP Now in Mumbai earlier this week.  Furthermore, SAP is deeply integrated into India’s economy, as 60% of the country’s GDP is processed through SAP’s systems. 80% of SAP’s customers in India are small and midsize businesses. Now, from small to large enterprises, everyone is excited about integrating AI. Recently, Philip Hertzberg, SAP’s chief AI officer, mentioned that SAP is expecting a 10 to 15% rise in efficiency through the use of generative AI. SAP has partnerships with leading AI companies like Google, Microsoft, Anthropic, Cohere, and Aleph Alpha.  Joule, SAP’s generative AI assistant that allows access to the company’s extensive cloud enterprise suite across different apps and programmes, is also available on SAP BTP now. Talking about the same, Ananth noted that the Indian team plays a major role in SAP’s generative AI initiatives. The company has developed over 30 generative AI use cases and has collected anonymous datasets from more than 27,000 customers via cloud storage to train its models. “In terms of AI, our approach in India is to democratise the technology, making it accessible across various organisational levels and not just confined to large corporations,” added Subbu.  Why India is a Hotspot for AI  “India has been a leader in acquiring new names and logos globally,” said Ananth, highlighting the importance of its role in SAP’s global operations.  The growth potential for AI in India is substantial. According to EY, generative AI can add around $1.2 -1.5 trillion to India’s GDP over the next seven years. Furthermore, India attracts major investments in digital native companies like Razorpay, Cure.fit, Swiggy, Ola, which are inherently inclined to integrate AI, machine learning, and robotics into their operations.  The broader perspective reveals that if organisations do not engage with AI, they risk losing their competitive edge. Recognising this, there is a concerted effort within India to ensure that both large industry players and newer market entrants can effectively use AI. This inclusive strategy is expected to spur growth across all segments, reinforcing India’s position as a crucial hub in SAP’s global AI strategy. #india #sap
