Supply Chain’s shift in boardroom Not too long ago, the typical scene at every business review was predictable. The General Manager flanked by the CFO on one side and the Commercial Director on the other, reflecting the traditional pillars of finances and sales. But in our last review in India, something remarkable caught my eye. The setting was different. The head of Supply Chain was seated on the right and the head of External Manufacturing on the left. India being of one of the world’s largest and most diverse market presents a few challenges. Its gigantic size, combined with an underdeveloped transport infrastructure and multi-tier distribution model required a new way of thinking to plan and orchestrate our operations. In a market like this, the equation is simple : no supply - no business. Recognizing this, our Indian supply chain and manufacturing teams built an incredibly agile and responsive network with a national hub and various satellites CFA (carrying & forwarding agents) capable of sustaining growth. Their IBP (integrated business planning) leadership stands out with the best forecast accuracy in Asia. They are connecting every part of the operations from procurement, to production, to logistics ensuring that all partners across the chain make things happened on time and with precision to allow sales and financials to soar. This shift of importance is a testament of the strategic role supply chain is playing in our company’s growth and was prominent on that particular day of our business review. Another Paradox "Be like a needle that pricks but sews torn pieces together and not like a knife that only cuts apart" This is a modified version of a saying attributed to Babasaheb Purandare. We should aim to be purposeful and constructive, even if our actions or words might occasionally cause discomfort. Just as a needle, including the surgical suture needles, may prick and cause pain but ultimately repairs and creates something whole, we too should strive to address challenges or conflicts with the intent of healing and building unity, rather than causing harm for its own sake. If you are destined to be a knife, be the one who cuts cakes, vegetables and fruits and not the one that cuts bonds between people. Isn't tongue good enough for that?!!! The contrast between the needle and the knife is strikingly insightful—both sharp, yet serving profoundly different purposes. It underscores the idea that our actions, even when difficult or painful, should aim at repair and connection rather than division. It is said that an injury to the tongue heals faster but the injury done by a tongue may take ages to heal. Indeed, the tongue (or our words) has unparalleled power, capable of healing or wounding. Be mindful of what you speak, and in the latest e-age, be mindful of what you write as digital words, like spoken ones, linger and can have lasting effects. Choose words and deeds that heal, build, and unite, and to wield our sharpness with care and purpose. A profound reminder for all interactions, online or offline. #psalmoflife

It’s an exciting milestone to note that exports of Drugs & Pharmaceuticals have recorded a growth of 8.15% for April-August FY-2024, significantly outpacing the overall growth rate of total export commodities at 1.14%. This highlights the strong performance and potential of our sector in the current market. NAFTA stands out as the largest exporting region for India, showcasing an impressive growth rate of 19.9%. Additionally, the revival of CIS exports, which have seen a growth of 6.66%, marks another significant achievement for our trade landscape. 🔴 Exciting Updates for Pharma MSMEs! 🔴 Over two years ago, the Department of Pharmaceuticals (#DoP) launched the Pharmaceutical Technology Upgradation Assistance Scheme (#PTUAS) aimed at helping #MSMEs in the pharmaceutical sector upgrade their manufacturing facilities to meet #WHO-#GMP or #Schedule #M standards. Initially, the scheme faced challenges due to its limited incentives, but the DoP has actively revamped it multiple times to better meet the needs of the industry. 🔹 Latest Updates (as of September 17, 2024): Increased Maximum Incentive: Revised from ₹1 crore to ₹2 crore. #Solace Scorching Mumbai heat of 36 Deg (above 95's humidity), traffic moving at snail's place (bumper to bumper), road rage in full swing: horns blaring, heat within and outside of individuals at similar glare - Amongst such a chaotic scenario, witnessed a day worker in peaceful slumber within the shade of his moving truck. His condition was so peaceful, that, couldn't help but clicking the sleeping beauty. During the balance commute, my mind wondered on the causality for such tranquil peace - Is tranquility dependent on a relative external scenario, which a person may feel happy or sad about, or, can a person be tranquil and peaceful under any circumstances - The said picture went completely against this logic. We are so overwhelmed by our immediate circumstances, that, most of the times we fail to "live" and be at peace with ourselves, irrespective of external situations. From the core of our heart, we know that all situations will pass (for better or worse) - Nothing prevents us to be at bliss on most of the times - The inner realm can very well exist without getting influenced by the troubled outer realm (most of the times) - All that is needed, is, training your mind slowly.. 🔴 #DMF filings hit all-time high in Q3 2024; China tops list with 58% increase in Type II submissions.. 🔴 #Drug #Master #Files, or DMFs, are confidential documents that play a crucial role in the #pharmaceutical #industry. These files, submitted to the #US #Food and #Drug #Administration (#FDA), contain detailed information about ingredients, manufacturing processes, and packaging of medicines. They help the #FDA oversee drug quality. Of the four types, Type II DMFs involve active pharmaceutical ingredients (#APIs) for both branded and generic drugs. The third quarter (Q3) of 2024 saw Type II DMF submissions set a new record. A total of 309 Type II DMFs were submitted to the FDA during this period, a substantial 24.6 percent increase over Q3 2023 (with 248 submissions).
