  • If you feel anxious after an interview, it’s basically due to two scenarios Scenario 1 - You have a sense of doubt which only grows over time as the period of lull post the conversation sets longer and longer. - You begin retrospecting the entire conversation and move into an analysis and paralysis to gauge how good or apt your responses were. - You wish to talk about it to your close ones to seek their validation and sense check Or Scenario 2 - You’re sure you are gonna move past to the next stage and that this is only a matter of time. - You are internally pleased with the responses you’ve give and are sure about the next steps. - Or may be interviewer dropped a hint with a grin or a smile or a phrase such as, “Looking forward to seeing you soon…. Etc etc..” In most case you’re not moving to the next round if you’re at Scenario 1 The best solution here would be to hold your head up and doing what is logical, Preparing for the next interview with a different company ! Remember, that whenever you’re in doubt or second guessing, then it’s not happening the way you want it to! However, in both cases what’s most important is that you manage your emotions well. #interviews #failure #anxiety

  • A friend shared a story about their abusive manager who used to curse his team—loudly, animatedly, and without restraint. A missed deadline, a minor mistake, or even his own bad day, the team bore the brunt of his frustration. When confronted, his response was always the same: "It’s just how I am. Don’t take it personally. You’ll have to bear with me." At first, the team tried to adapt, hoping things would improve. But over time, the constant shouting and disrespect began taking a toll. One day, the team got together They decided to escalate the issue, filing a formal complaint with senior leadership. But the response they received was disappointing. Senior Management acknowledged the situation but didn’t take meaningful action, citing the manager’s "value to the company." Realizing that they couldn’t rely on the system, the team took matters into their own hands. Individually, they started planning their exits. Some explored opportunities within other teams in the organization, while others began searching for roles outside the company. Over the next few weeks, one by one, they left. The manager, who had once dismissed their concerns, was suddenly left scrambling to rebuild. By the time Leadership finally stepped in to address the situation, the damage was irreversible. This incident made me realize just how much leadership impacts a team’s morale, productivity, and retention. People don’t have to "bear with" toxic behavior—they’ll find a way to move forward, even if that means leaving. Whoever you are, a manager or a team member remember this: respect is non-negotiable.     I once had a manager who believed that graduates from Tier 2 campuses weren’t as capable as those from Tier 1 institutions. He never said it directly, but his actions made it clear. The more challenging projects always went to the Tier 1 graduates, and during reviews, they received detailed feedback and recognition, while the rest of us were sidelined.     A close friend slipped into depression, His manager had promised him a promotion but later that just didn’t take shape ! Using the promise of promotion as a bait he was made to work tirelessly for a full year. He sacrificed his health, time with family, and personal passions - all because his manager kept saying, “It’s coming soon, just keep pushing.” But when the time finally came, the promotion was offered to someone else.     A former teammate of mine made a bold move—he resigned without another job lined up. Our skip-level manager quickly scheduled a 1:1 with him, eager to understand why he was leaving. In that conversation, my teammate didn’t hold back. He spoke openly about the toxic work environment and the strain our manager's behavior had put on our mental health.
