"Today, instead of studying, we danced. I really enjoy dancing. I got a chance to dance with my friends and had a lot of fun," said Vishal (name changed), a 13-year-old boy enrolled in one of Sampark's Early Childhood Care and Education Centers. On December 15, around 100 children from Sampark's ECCE center, aged 10 and above, were invited for a flagship event, and India's First Inclusive Dance Festival, #Tandavdancefestival, aimed to break stereotypes and celebrate diversity through dance and music. The dance festival brings together children from various children’s homes, schools, and special schools across #Bangalore and sets the stage for 1000+ children and adults with disabilities. Every participant learned and experienced different #dance forms during the festival. Sampark strives to be at the forefront of enabling #children to experience learnings and gain meaningful and fun exposure for their #holistic development. #earlychildhoodcareanddevelopment #supportmigrantchildren #ECCE #sampark #tandavdancefestival2024 #development #communitybuilding #socialimpact #childdevelopment #disabilityrights #inclusivity

According to the World Health Organization (#WHO), globally in 2023, there were 14.5 million children missing out on any #vaccination – so-called zero-dose children. In its core intervention, Sampark has identified this global fight against child mortality on account of missed age-appropriate immunization of children. Since 2006, the #health and nutrition of children of migrant families have been a focal point for Sampark’s intervention and support. We bring to you our impact on the age-appropriate #immunization coverage of #migrant children across our 26 Early Childhood Care and #Education Centers. Every migrant child is important. So is their regular and age-appropriate immunization. If you want to support our fight against child mortality and help ensure the #holistic development of #migrant children, connect with us! Age appropriate immunization helps reduce child mortality and helps in the cognitive, physical and mental health growth. "Join hands with Sampark to shape a brighter #future for #underprivileged children! Your #CSR partnership can help us provide quality #nutrition, and care to children of #migrant workers in #Bangalore. Together, we can create a lasting impact on thousands of #young lives. According to the National Education Policy 2020, over 85% of a child’s cumulative brain development occurs prior to the age of 6. The #NEP states that a universal provision needs to be set afloat and achieved no later than 2030 to ensure quality early #childhood development, care, and education to enable all students entering Grade 1 to be school-ready. Sampark has joined this mission to support the education, health, and nutrition of migrant children through its 26 #ECCE Centers. In 2008, #Niganna moved with his parents to #Bangalore in the Ibbluru labour colony. His father took up a job as a construction worker, and his mother worked as a housekeeper. Coming from challenging circumstances, his parents had no means to enroll Niganna in a school. ✅With Sampark’s intervention, Niganna was put in the ECCE center at age 4. ✅The ECCE teacher counseled Niganna’s parents about the importance of education in formative years and encouraged them to enroll their son in a government school. ✅He continued his education and completed his 10th grade in the year 2019-2020 with distinction ✅ At present, Niganna is a BA student who aspires to become an IAS officer someday If you want to support the education and health of migrant children like Niganna, connect with us! #Contact: John Moses: 9035556103 #Email: [email protected] "Join hands with Sampark to shape a brighter future for underprivileged children! #CSR The National Family Health Survey (NFHS) shows that 48% under-five children in the country are stunted (they have low height for their age); 43% are underweight; and nearly 20%, are wasted (low weight for height). #India is home to one-third such children. 60% of them live in six states: #UttarPradesh, #MadhyaPradesh, #Bihar, #Rajasthan, #Maharashtra and #TamilNadu. Today as we commemorate #HumanRightsDay2024 to honour #‘OurRightsOurFutureRightNow’, let us take a pledge to help migrant children achieve appropriate nutrition for their holistic development. Since 2006, Sampark has helped over 1500 undernourished migrant children to receive nutritional benefits through our 120 #ECCE Centers across Bangalore. Overall Sampark has impacted 58,000 #children of migrant construction workers providing for their #health, #nutrition, and #education. Every migrant child is special. At Sampark we strive to nurture nature’s most innocent creation: children. Every #initiative we take is to ensure that migrant children move a step closer to rightful education, health, immunization, and nutrition. As we soak in the #festive season, let us think of what could bring joy to a child coming from the margins of society. It is the joy of seeing a plateful of a nutritious meal. It is the colors and sparkles they see in books, pens, pencils, and a drawing board. In this endeavor of bringing care closer to migrant homes, Sampark has launched its "Joy of Giving Campaign" for 2024. Through the Give platform, we are striving to raise donations to support 1300 migrant children of Sampark’s 26 #EarlyChildhoodEducationandCare Centers to become school-ready. Every #migrantchild is important. Every contribution counts. Let us join our hands and help these children move from the margins of society to mainstream #education. #Contribute to show care and support, for one migrant child at a time till we reach our goal of reaching the last mile child. “We try to avoid fights with our husbands by keeping our mouth shut. Even if we wanted to speak up against violence, we are stopped by our family to protect ‘ghar ki izzat’. Sometimes we don’t even understand what abuse is due to societal stigma”, said #Radha (name changed) who along with 19 other women on November 26, 2024, participated in the monthly session on raising awareness about #Domestic Violence in #Varanasi. “Sometimes violence seeps down into the family and affects the next generation. My son is also abusive towards his wife. My efforts to save my daughter-in-law failed. Such is the story of many women in #rural areas who go through physical abuse on a daily basis but are never able to voice it out,” said #Shanti (name changed). Sampark in its efforts as an active ambassador against violence directed at women encourages #women to understand the importance of seeking help if they are facing any abuse at home. Women are told that they can take the help of police or One-Stop-Crisis-Centers, call women's helpline number, or report it to the #Gram Panchayat or #Sarpanch. With the support of Sampark, every month a sizable group of women gather and engage in freely discussing the challenges that domestic abuse brings and seek ways of redressing them with the help of community support and solidarity. #NoExcuse #16daysofactivism #genderequality #SayNottoGenderBasedViolence #SamparkNgo #MigrantWomen #Varanasi #NonProfits #December

“I never thought I could step out of my village home. But, today I have had the opportunity of holding a mic and speaking in a panel in front of so many people. Today’s learnings have motivated me to start my own #business. I hope to become a lakhpati didi someday”, said Radha (name changed) from #Varanasi who participated in the National Conference on Self Help Group (SHG) Federations and Farmer Produce Organisations (FPO’s), organized by APMAS, Hyderabad, at the National Institute of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise, Yusufguda, #Hyderabad, Telangana from 21st to 22nd November 2024. Women from SHG got the opportunity to interact with other state's SHG members of federations. The interaction enabled women to learn about the work of #SHG federations, the acute importance of federations, and the benefits and schemes for federations and #FPOs. There was an in-depth discussion on how these federations have initiated multiple initiatives under one roof which include: food processing, seed preservation, #crafts and #handloom works, etc. The discussion also highlighted the importance of digital payment and digital literacy among SHGs, and how these skill sets can accentuate empowerment of women. The participation in a national-level conference immensely boosted the morale and confidence of #SHG women, some of whom traveled outside of their village for the first time. Kashi (name changed) shared, “I usually have my first meal at 3 PM every day. Here, at the conference, I was happy to eat all three meals on time. Being a part of this event gives us more faith to do our work better. It was a proud moment for all of us.” #SHGFederationTelengana #MSME #Sampark #SHGfinancialinclusion #SHGdigitalliteracy #FarmerProduceOrganisation #APMAS
