We are thrilled to have hosted our first-ever AgriCon! This two-day conclave at the JMax Vijayanagar Campus brought together 29 Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) under the theme 'Promoting Sustainable Agriculture.' Farmers connected with experts, buyers, government departments, and agri-input companies, exchanging ideas and exploring opportunities. The event buzzed with activity, from stalls showcasing regional produce to panel discussions on FPO sustainability and governance. Field teams and FPOs were recognized and celebrated with awards, inspiring them to continue making a difference. With over 250 participants, AgriCon 2024 was a successful step towards driving progress and positive change for farming communities. We are on a mission to restore mangroves while rebuilding lives! JSW Foundation, along with the Mangrove Foundation of Maharashtra, plans to restore the mangrove forests in Raigad’s Alibaug Division, planting over 1.75 lakh saplings. Women Self Help Groups (SHGs) will manage the plantations, creating livelihoods for their members. This five-year project will start in December 2024, with the aim to protect coastlines, reduce erosion, and boost biodiversity, and to build on the success of JSW’s mangrove restoration in Dolvi, where 400 hectares were restored from 2016 to 2023. In the heart of Ballari and Vijayanagar, Karnataka, the JSW Foundation set out on a mission to bring the magic of books to young children. The JSW Room to Read project started by creating vibrant school libraries, rotating books, and making reading fun. Nearly 192,978 books have been shared across 1,464 schools, sparking curiosity and joy. Today, 97% of schools have library periods, and children are excited to pick books that interest them.
