We're delighted to share that this year, we celebrate 25 years of Dasra being in service of anchoring transformative impact in India. This journey has been one of recognizing the deep inequities that live among us, by making visible the invisible and bridging these vast divides. It has been about sparking determination, not pity. It has been about challenging the status quo, the courage to take paths less travelled and the willingness to immerse in the shared truths of our vulnerabilities. It has been about making philanthropy work for communities, not for privilege. It has called for nurturing trust and radical kindness; the empathy to explore possibilities and the humility to accept these in our oneness. This journey has been about a fierce ambition to be uncompromising, to satiate the hunger for learning and to have the audacity to amplify the most vulnerable of voices. It has required perseverance, empathy, and gusto: true moral courage for sustenance. It has for us inspired leadership that adjusts the sails to catch the wind to imagine possibilities in pursuit of a higher purpose, bigger than ourselves but that together is surmountable. For us, it has been a journey of combining the power of the mind and the courage of the heart to tackle large-scale inequities. As we look forward, we remain committed to our vision of transforming India anchored around our ethos of empowering communities to "thrive through equity". It seems like a long journey thus far, but for us, the journey has just begun. #thrivethroughequity #ABillionThriving #Dasraat25 Neera Nundy Deval Sanghavi Shailja Mehta Jyotirmoy Chatterji Ninad Ankleshwaria Parnasha Banerjee Dinella Oliveira

What does it mean to truly integrate gender inclusivity at the grassroots? At Rebuild India Fund’s Regional Gathering in the East, approximately 130 participants comprising leaders and second-in-lines from West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha and Jharkhand came together to explore this crucial question, guided by a powerful panel of leaders from Rebuild's portfolio and members from Dasra- Nandita Pradhan (Martha Farrell Foundation), Avinaba Dutta (KARNA-SUBARNA WELFARE SOCIETY), Paramita Banerjee (DIKSHA), Roshni Mukherji (Dasra's WomenLead India Alliance) and Sangeeta Bhattacharya (Rebuild). From redefining leadership structures to making space for meaningful conversations about gender, the panel delved into what it takes to build truly inclusive communities. Avinaba challenged the audience to rethink their assumptions about everyday spaces, asking, "Who here has seen a gender-neutral toilet?" and reminding us that inclusivity begins at home. Nandita spoke about the language of gender—how gender is not just a word but a deeply personal experience, urging organizations to intentionally create spaces where conversations about identity and humanity can flourish. Paramita shared her journey of leading DIKSHA for over two decades without a director or a pyramidal structure, proving that challenging patriarchal norms is not just possible but essential. "Can we, as leaders, build organizations that reflect the change we want to see—not just through programs, but in how we lead?" This panel wasn’t just about value frameworks but instead was a call to action that resonated with each organization. Through this convening we were deeply encouraged by the receptivity of our partners, bringing discourse and examples to the grassroots enabled us to look inward and commit to building organizations and communities where inclusivity isn’t an ideal—but is a practice. #RebuildIndiaFund #GenderInclusivity #GrassrootsLeadership #CollectiveChange #GenderIntentionality

The Generation Equality Forum, UN Women, has launched the 2024 In-depth Action Coalition on Bodily Autonomy and SRHR Accountability Report, which provides a detailed overview of progress made by 109 Commitment Makers—including governments, CSOs, private sector entities, and youth organizations. As a proud Commitment Maker, Dasra aligns with the forum’s accountability principles and reports its progress annually. We are thrilled to share that this year’s report highlights our ‘Switch The Soch (Switch The Perception)’ campaign as a good practice for engaging #men and #boys on #SRHR. Through active engagement channels and celebrity ambassadors, the campaign has reached 5.4 million people and directly engaged 1.9 million young people through JOSH , a video sharing social media platform in India. This campaign is part of our multi-partner initative Youth Ke Bol —India’s first-of-its-kind, pan-India intervention that has brought together over 1 million young people to become #leaders in voicing their opinion towards the access to #SRH information and services, driving toward a better #qualityoflife for youth across the country. A heartfelt thank you to our YKB partners YuWaah India at UNICEF, Yuvaa, The YP Foundation, Restless Development, Pravah and EMpower—The Emerging Markets Foundation for their unwavering commitment to making the dream of a #1million-youth coalition a reality. Together, we continue to advance the youth-led narrative of ‘Improved Quality of Life’ and strive to create a sustainable future for the coalition and its resources. #Explorethehighlights: 📽 Launch Event Recording: https://lnkd.in/dR9Km9iD Passcode: C12p%0uK 📄 2024 Accountability Report: https://lnkd.in/dj3aMFTX #ThrivethroughEquity #QualityofLife #YouthKeBol Watch the launch video of our #SwitchTheSoch Campaign below
