Salesforce Acquires an Israeli Data Management Provider ​​for $450 Million Zoomin, an Israeli startup that offers tools for processing unstructured data, was acquired by Salesforce. Zoomin developed a content delivery platform that makes it possible to process unstructured data to make it more accessible to AI models and systems. Among Zoomin’s customers there are Dell Technologies and Mastercard. Salesforce will integrate Zoomin’s technology to equip its AI-driven autonomous service chatbots with the capability to provide personalized answers to customers’ needs. - Salesforce was one of the initial investors in Zoomin, making a strategic investment in the company in 2018. - To date, Zoomin, founded in 2016 by Gal Oron, Joe Gelb and Hannan Saltzman, raised about $73 million in venture capital. Take a look at this picture. It was taken today at our Salesforce offices in Tel-Aviv. It shows a few dozens of Salesforce Israel employees in one of our regular all-hands meetings. What's so special about that? Well, that picture was taken exactly 36 hours after Iran launched a massive aerial strike against Israel with 100s of UCAVs, ballistic and cruise missiles carrying about 60 tons(!) of explosives. Thanks to the Israeli Air force, the air forces of the US, UK, France, Jordan and others *and* Israeli innovation and engineering talent who developed the most advanced multi-layered air defense systems in the world - luckily that attack ended up with relatively low impact. It was a sleepless night for all us in Israel who got an advanced notice of the attack and basically spent that night bracing for impact. Now take another look at this picture. 36 hours later - People showing up at the office, talking to each other, having a few laughs, having meetings, discussing deadlines, solving business problems, discussing engineering problems, doing demos, having coffee and lunch together, having an all-hands meeting together. 36 hours ago we were bracing for impact of 60 tons of explosives that were about to fall out of the sky. Great accomplishment to our cyber ecosystem, Eleven Israeli startups are featured in the Rising in Cyber list, which highlights the most promising cyber companies in the U.S. https://risingincyber.com/ The project was organized by the global venture capital fund Notable Capital, in cooperation with the NewYork Stock Exchange, Fenwick, and HSBC Innovation Banking. The list includes: Gomboc.ai , Oligo Security , and Wing Security among the 10 early-stage companies; Astrix Security, Descope , and Grip Security at the mid-stage; and Cyera , Drata , Island , Orca Security , and Wiz at the growth stage. The Rising in Cyber survey of more than 100 security leaders revealed three innovation drivers needed by security teams to adapt to a growing footprint of technologies, the rise of AI, and the evolving sophistication of cyber criminals. These themes provide a glimpse into the future buying patterns of CISOs. 1. Identity and Access Management The rise of non-human actors and identity-centric, malware-free attacks, which accounted for 75% of incidents in 2023, highlights the urgent need for robust identity and access management (IAM) solutions. Startups are stepping up with next-generation Identity Governance and Administration (IGA), new authentication platforms, and privileged access management tools. 2. Cloud Security With the transition to multi-cloud architectures, traditional security tools remain inadequate for cloud environments. Innovations in cloud detection and response, data security, automation, risk management, and AI threat detection are becoming essential. 3. Application and Code Security The widespread use of open-source code introduces new vulnerabilities, while AI supercharges product security teams. Startups enabling collaboration between developers and security teams are leading the way, with AI improving code remediation and testing.

Project Nimbus (Hebrew: פרויקט נימבוס) is a cloud computing project of the Israeli government and its military.[1][2][3][4] The Israeli Finance Ministry announced April 2021, that the contract is to provide "the government, the defense establishment, and others with an all-encompassing cloud solution."[1] Under the contract, the companies will establish local cloud sites that will "keep information within Israel's borders under strict security guidelines."[4] Although Project Nimbus' specific mission has not yet been revealed, Google Cloud Platform's AI tools give the Israeli military and security services the capability for facial detection, automated image categorization, object tracking & sentiment analysis — tools that have previously been used by U.S. Customs and Border Protection for border surveillance.[1] Project Nimbus has four planned phases: the first is purchasing and constructing the cloud infrastructure, the second is crafting government policy for moving operations onto the cloud, the third is moving operations to the cloud, and the fourth is implementing and optimizing cloud operations.[5] Under a $1.2 billion contract, technology companies Google (Google Cloud Platform) and Amazon (Amazon Web Services) were selected to provide Israeli government agencies with cloud computing services, including artificial intelligence and machine learning.[6][1]

Today we decided to share some impactful initiatives: * Cybersecurity Boost With everyone on high alert, companies like Check Point Software Point and CyberArk have offered free trials of their cybersecurity tools to help protect important systems. They've been working hand in hand with the police to tighten up national security. * Mental Health Support Understanding the emotional toll, platforms like Myndlift and Telesofia Medical have expanded their telehealth services. They’re making online therapy more accessible so that anyone can find the mental health support they need during this tough time. * Aid and Relief Apps Startups have created apps that connect volunteers with local organizations that need help. Companies like Wix and Fiverr are making it super easy for people to pitch in and lend a hand. * Backing Local Businesses Apps like Buy Local have been developed to help consumers discover and support nearby shops, fostering a sense of community resilience. Venture capital firms and fintech companies established funds to provide low-interest loans and financial guidance to struggling businesses. OurCrowd launched initiatives to help local entrepreneurs secure funding more easily. * Community Building Networking groups are gathering to share resources and brainstorm recovery strategies. Our local cybersecurity ecosystem holds a considerable share of the worldwide cybersecurity market and is often ranked high on global innovation indices for its cybersecurity capabilities. Startup Nation Central recently published a report highlighting the impact the Israeli cybersecurity market has on the global stage. As of the publishing of the report, there were over 450 cybersecurity startups in Israel, with Israeli cyber exits accounting for 51% of the industry’s total transaction value of $7.5 billion. CISOs, I want to bring your attention to a recent Google Cloud blog by Phil Venables, VP, TI Security & CISO, Google Cloud, where he shares 3 promising AI use cases for cybersecurity. He explains that AI has the potential to dramatically change cybersecurity and benefit defenders in the long run. At Google Cloud, we believe that AI can help defenders move faster by automating tasks that, until now, have required laborious toil from security experts. 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗜𝘀𝗿𝗮𝗲𝗹𝗶 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗽𝘀 𝗖𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 Google '𝘀 𝗔𝗜-𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 Fifteen companies have been selected to participate in the "Google for Startups Accelerator: AI First" program, including three innovative startups from Israel. This 10-week program, developed in partnership with Google Cloud and Google DeepMind, aims to support the growth and development of AI-driven startups. The Israeli startups selected are: Bagel.ai (Yakum, Israel): This company helps product teams continuously quantify and validate their roadmaps, maximize impact, and accelerate revenue. Dtect Vision (Tel Aviv, Israel): Focused on combating misinformation in the finance sector, Dtect Vision uses AI to detect deepfake videos, audio, and content. Geneyx Genomex Ltd. (Herzliya, Israel): An AI-powered bioinformatics platform, Geneyx provides solutions for managing clinical genetics data across multi-omics fields. The recent #CyberWeek was an excellent opportunity to reconnect with colleagues while making new and exciting connections. Despite ongoing concerns, the steady recovery and increased investments in Israel are very encouraging. In H1 2024, Israeli #Cyber startups raised an impressive $2.9B, marking a 53% increase from the same period in 2023. This surge, coupled with the highest number of #exits since 2021, underscores a positive trend in the #Cybersecurity industry. Adding to this is Gartner's Attack Surface Management (ASM) report: "By 2028, investments in proactive technologies that improve visibility and reduce exposure will grow twice as fast as investments in reactive technologies that detect and respond to incidents". According to the latest Morgan Stanley CIO survey, cloud computing remains a top priority, while #Gartner predicts a significant increase in spending on data privacy and vulnerability assessment in 2024. At KTrust, an Israeli cybersecurity company, we focus on #proactive technology, integrated security solutions, and ongoing threat exposure for the #Kubernetes ecosystem. These developments inspire me to move forward with even greater enthusiasm and dedication.
