About us
TEAM HOPE is an Irish, interdenominational Christian development aid charity, working with children, and through them, into their families and communities in Eastern Europe, former Soviet Union and Africa (Irish charity number CHY 14524). Best known for our Annual Christmas Shoebox Appeal, we also help children all year round (many in families surviving on less than €1 a day) through a variety of community development projects; an International Sponsorship Programme, a Christmas Gift Catalogue and International Teams running two week summer teams running camps or work projects. Working with our international partners in Eastern Europe and Africa, we seek to help some of the most needy children and their families. For our 2015 Christmas Shoebox Appeal, we are planning on 200,000 gift boxes, with up to 20,000 for Refugees in Europe. In Ireland, TEAM HOPE are very grateful for the on going support and commitment of countless school-children, businesses and their staff, community groups, donors and around 2,000 volunteers.

💌 A heartfelt thank you to the Cognizant Cork team for their support of our Christmas Shoebox Appeal! Your dedication to giving back is helping us share love and kindness with children around the world. We’re so grateful to have you on our team this holiday season! #ThankYou #CommunityLove #HolidayImpact
Cognizant UK&I is in full pre-Christmas mode! And since the festive period is a time of giving our HR and Outreach teams got active to support young people in need. In London our volunteers came up with an immersive afternoon where our associates’ kids got to meet Santa and his elves in the office – with signup fees being donated to The King's Trust to empower disadvantaged young people’s careers. Our team raised an amazing £750 and created an unforgettable experience for over 100 children. And our Cork team rolled up their sleeves to pack shoeboxes for the TEAM HOPE Christmas Shoebox Appeal, filled with essential items and toys will bring joy to children in 14 countries across Africa and eastern Europe. Thanks to everyone involved for making these heart-warming activities happen! Midhusa Mohan Anita O'Connor Avril McManus Syed Ziaullah Emma Simmons Jessica Eriksson David Sexton

What a difference a few days can make. 5 months in post I was already fully enthused and committed to TEAM HOPE vision and mission. However after a privelged few days as part of a small team distributing Christmas Shoeboxes in Romania with our partners there, I am beyond moved. It’s been such a mxiture of intense emotion…seeing children living in an EU country in such abject poverty, worse than I’d ever imagined. To experience their joy in receipt of a shoebox filled with items we take for granted (soap, toothpaste, pens, and paper) has been beyond humbling..maybe their joy is not just the physical gift but that someone has stepped across their threshold, strangers from across the water, and maybe just maybe that brings them Hope for a brighter tomorrow .i have tried to capture the essence of the few days below in short reel At this time of abundance, maybe it is even more poignant to think of those with so little, and if you would like to help ..it’s not too late..the online shoeboxes will be helping children in Rwanda and Kenya this year https://lnkd.in/eYYSZE7w https://lnkd.in/eTE6i8Pk

TEAM HOPE reposted this
4 months ago, this journey with TEAM HOPE began as their new CEO, and what I’ve witnessed the last few months has fully reinforced that I’m where I’m supposed to be..that rare feeling we get just a few times in life whether it’s a place, with a person and just very occasionally with a job..call it providence or whatever your belief is. I had it when I arrived from Canada to a wee grace filled Island in Donegal Lough Derg, The Sanctuary of St Patrick and was fortunate to also have the right person in Prior Richard Mohan..and on eve of my first overseas trip with Team Hope, that same wonderful, sometimes unnerving feeling is well and truly stirred within me. Off to some of the poorest parts of Romania in the morning to experience first hand how the kindness of strangers can make a real difference to a child who will experience joy when they receive their Christmas Shoebox but more importantly hope that someone who doesn’t even know them, believes in them….and most often the Christmas shoeboxes have been packed by a child so that hand of friendship across the continents has huge benefit for both the child donor and recipient. Media love to flood our news feed with the tho very worst of humanity but there is so much good and that too should make the news, especially at this time of year..schools, churches, businesses, volunteers, sports teams and social clubs, selfless individuals whether they be knitting or driving a van..and it’s there in abundance..I’ll not apologise for the long post and will unashamedly add a plug for the chance to still donate an online Christmas shoebox which we make sure will go to thousands of children in Rwanda and Kenya..you’ve got til Christmas Eve to get involved. Thanks also to friends and family who have supported me on this new chapter ..you know who you are and it’s meant the world💚and to the many who’ve supported Team Hope..huge thanks to all who have already supported this years Christmas Shoebox Appeal
