If you frequently fly via Cork Airport, look out for their introduction of Re-Turn vending machines, enabling passengers to do their bit for the environment. Read more below 👇
Cork Airport is leading the way in sustainable business practice by being the first Irish airport and transport hub to introduce new reverse vending machines as part of Ireland's Deposit Return Scheme! ♻️ ✈️ The new machines, which will allow passengers to return empty plastic bottles and aluminium cans are part of a pilot programme in conjunction with Re-turn. Vouchers from returned bottles/cans can be then utilised in the various airport cafes, food court and bar. In total, four machines have been installed, with two located landside and two to be located airside for maximum convenience. In yet another first, Cork Airport is now home to two charity reverse vending machines, the first of their kind to be launched in Ireland. Instead of spending their deposit, passengers will have the choice of donating it to six worthy Irish charities as part of the 'Return for Children' inititative - Barnardos Ireland, The Jack & Jill Foundation, LauraLynn, Ireland's Children's Hospice, Barretstown, ISPCC Childline and Make-A-Wish Ireland. The new reverse vending machines were launched yesterday by Lord Mayor of Cork, Cllr. Dan Boyle, in the company of Cork Airport Managing Director, Niall MacCarthy, Re-turn CEO, Ciaran Foley, Re-turn Head of Marketing & Communications, Niamh Kelly and Roisin Gleeson, representing LauraLynn, Ireland's Children's Hospice. #ReturnIreland #BringItBack #Sustainability #Recycling daa | Cork City Council - Comhairle Cathrach Chorcaí | ACI EUROPE
