With UNECE regulations R155 and R156 coming into full effect this year, cybersecurity has become one of the biggest issues the auto industry must tackle going forward. However, identifying and managing threats over the entire lifecycle of a vehicle is a mammoth task. At Automotive Cybersecurity Europe 2024 in Frankfurt this week Cubic's Ihar Ponikarchik and Ronan O'Hurley learnt more about how the industry is feeling about the road ahead: 👉🏻Most immediately OEMs are focusing on how to spot and address vulnerabilities in the software development stage. 👉🏻Compliance — in particular greater communication and sharing of data on compliance and risk between OEMs and their suppliers — will play a significant role. 👉🏻Over-the-air (OTA) capabilities — the ability to push security updates to vehicles seamlessly and efficiently — will be a key factor in navigating this successfully. At Endeavor, we believe that true success doesn’t come from numbers; it comes from the value you create and from inspiring others to become high-impact entrepreneurs - If you can see it, you can be it! Yesterday, Endeavor Entrepreneurs Barry Napier of Cubic Telecom and Aimee Connolly of Sculpted by Aimee, along with Endeavor Board Member Mark Roden, Bobby Healy of Manna Drone Delivery, and Ray Nolan of Hostelworld Group, joined UCD’s Commerce and Economics Society for a panel discussion about entrepreneurship. They explored topics like leadership, scaling, and the power of connections made in college - reminding students that the classmate sitting next to them today could become their co-founder in a few years. P.S. - It seems like everyone got the pink memo😅 The Commerce & Economics Society Alice McMahon Fitzjohn Lucy Warner

From the 7th of July this year new vehicles produced must comply with UNECE R155 and R156 regulations. Set by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, and operational in 64 countries globally, these regulations set rigorous standards for cybersecurity and data protection in software-defined and autonomous vehicles. So, how should automakers navigate these new requirements? Cubic's CTO Nick Power will be speaking about this at Automotive USA today, or you can read more about this topic in our blog below 👇🏻
