Aiming to wrap up the year with a delicious twist, #HBT business services teams tested their cooking skills at MODENA Culinaria on Saturday. Following the demonstration by Chef Dedes Dwi Ratnasari, our teams were let loose to prepare Swedish Meatballs or Spaghetti Aglio e Olio with Prawns from scratch, then sample the results. Laughter and camaraderie filled the kitchen for hours, and all the food was gobbled up by the end – clear evidence of our culinary successes. We recently completed a five-week Diversity Champions Internship Programme with partner organisations Emtek (PT Elang Mahkota Teknologi Tbk), Manulife Indonesia (PT Asuransi Jiwa Manulife Indonesia) and Halodoc. Modelled on successful Herbert Smith Freehills initiatives in Hong Kong and Singapore, the programme gives students with disabilities or from lower socio-economic backgrounds exposure to various industries, professional development opportunities, and insights into our respective D&I commitments. At the closing ceremony at the Emtek office, #HBT managing partner Tjahjadi Bunjamin and D&I co-leads Stephanie and Michelle Virgiany joined our programme partners for presentations by the participants on their internship experiences.
