Techno-Optimism is gaining momentum and It's great to feel optimistic about the future. I recently shared my views on the niche topic of Techno-Optimism and Effective Accelerationism (e/acc) in discussion with Tomáš Hrivňák and Denník N (in slovak only). Not as much about climate as the title suggests though. Before the recent AI boom, there was a prevalent idea in Silicon Valley called "The Great Stagnation," championed by the economist Tyler Cowen and tech investor Peter Thiel. In recent decades, we were experiencing scientific stagnation, with the pace of innovation significantly slowing down compared to previous periods. The Great Stagnation theory suggested that it had become much more expensive and challenging to come up with new inventions, highlighting a perceived slowdown in technological progress. Lot's of pessimism. Lot's of innovation on the "bits" (SW) space but not "atoms" (HW, materials, physics) space. Then the AI boom came, which stirred the debate about Techno-optimism as innovations in the AI field could impact other innovations exponentially - Law of Accelerating Returns (Ray Kurzweil). AI could potentially help us to accelerate scientific discovery, push the boundaries of our understanding in fields like human biology, physics and material science (and climate). And even faster than we expected. The Techno-Optimist Manifesto written by Marc Andreessen last year started a lot of discussions. Some perceived it as unrealistic or utopian and neglecting risk, others as a good representation of the exponential potential of new innovations and its net-positive effect on our future. I remain optimistic. New inventions and technologies will help us to address major global issues and stagnation as our whole civilization is and was built on technological progress and invention.

WHT on dividends | General tax ruling issued 'Subject to tax' clause is fulfilled also by those entities - recipients of dividends - who enjoy a tax exemption of a subjective nature (when the dividend received is non-taxable, but the recipient as such is subject to tax). It is a positive outcome of considerations on WHT exemptions for dividends in Poland, though not having solved all the burning issues. Stay tuned with Koda. 📣 The THEROS_project 3rd Plenary Meeting took place in the heart of Prague on December 5-6. During the event, WIRELESSINFO and Šumavaprodukt presented their work on the Czech pilot project focused on implementing a digital marketplace for local organic food producers. The Czech pilot aims to enhance the availability and traceability of #organic products while fostering new business opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). This initiative includes the deployment of key technologies, such as:    📍 IoT-enabled logistics to monitor product conditions during transport and storage    📍 A Digital Marketplace connecting producers directly with consumers    📍 Blockchain technology to ensure traceability and record critical tracking events The platform is designed to offer SMEs a cost-effective way to reach a broader market, ultimately improving the transparency and sustainability of the organic food supply chain. Poland on the map of innovative medicine. MedApp S.A. is supporting the development of XR technologies as part of the VR Health Champions project.  The aim of the VR Health Champions project is to realise the potential of the technology by bridging market, clinical and regulatory barriers for five selected VR/AR technologies. As part of the project, MedApp will work closely with Latvia's Lightspace Labs to develop a solution for surgical navigation and visualisation of anatomical features. A second company from Poland, Metaskills, focuses on the development of soft skills using VR and GenAI technologies, is also participating in this unique project. Grupa Pracuj, one of the shareholders of robota.ua, has signed a Conditional Investment Agreement to acquire the stake of one of the shareholders in work.ua and robota.ua. Let me answer some of the questions that arise along the way.    Will anything change for clients, job seekers, or the market?  No, nothing will change. robota.ua and work.ua are two separate companies. They are completely independent in terms of management. We remain competitors, as before.    Will this create a monopoly?   No. Grupa Pracuj has owned work.ua shares since 2016, but this had no impact on competition. Here are the facts: The cost of job postings in Ukraine is 10 times lower than in Poland and 80 times lower than in the Netherlands.  The quality of services in Ukraine is higher.  For example, robota.ua launched its employer mobile app in September 2023, while similar products are only being planned in Europe. How will this affect robota.ua's operations?  It won’t.  We continue to implement our strategy. This will also not affect plans regarding team and structure as this is my responsibility as a CEO and robota.ua management team.    What’s next?  We can confirm that a conditional investment agreement has been signed, but we are not in a position to discuss further steps until the process concludes.
