The final stretch of the year = FY25 planning. And We Are Social's #Digital2024 October Global Statshot Report has all the needed digital and social data. Some key headlines: - Internet users have increased by 151 million (+2.8%) over the past 12 months, with the average user spending 6 hours and 36 minutes online daily (almost in line with the hours people sleep on average!) - Video games remain hugely popular with the world's internet users, with 84.1% of connected adults playing games. - ChatGPT charges ahead with its mobile app ranking amongst the top ten "breakout" apps by MAU between June and August 2024 - 5.75 billion people now use mobile phones, equating to 70.3% of the world's population. Nielsen worked on a study with TikTok in Southeast Asia to quantify the effectiveness and ROAS of TikTok platform. What made this study unique is Long Term ROAS were also measured along with synergistic impact between TikTok and other media channels like TV. The granularity captured in the analysis explored the findings on TikTok ad-products and creator vs brand ads. This first of its kind study demonstrated how TikTok as a platform delivers returns across the funnel along with generating multiplier effect when executed with other media channels. We recently partnered with Kantar to release a new study on Retail Media Networks in SE Asia showing the RMN trend, while early days, is growing faster in SE Asia than global averages and is indeed a Full Funnel Omni-channel experience. 🌊The study by GrabAds and Kantar found that RMN ad spend is expected to surge by 73% in the next seven years, surpassing growth rates in search (47%) and social (45%). 🇮🇩 The study forecasts that Indonesia will lead the pack with a projected 13.41% CAGR in RMN ad spend, with 🇻🇳Vietnam and 🇹🇭Thailand rounding out the top three. 🙋🙋‍♀️🙋‍♂️ The study noted that unlike the other RMN types that cover specific purchase stages, superapp RMNs can reach consumers at all stages of their buying journey, from awareness to purchase.
