Customer feedback and reception have been overwhelmingly positive since we launched our Gen-IC Cloud Intercom service at the start of the year. Transitioning production workflows from on-premises to cloud-based tools is not always smooth, and getting crews and personnel fluent with new systems can come with many teething challenges. However, one of the main pieces of customer feedback we get is how intuitive Gen-IC is to use especially with the self-serve SkyPort portal. Moreover, the users of the system continue to work with the same virtual clients or physical panels (hybrid systems) that they have come to love for many years. This results in much lower deployment costs as no user training is required. Gen-IC is our first product venture into managed cloud services, and it’s hugely rewarding to hear that it is enabling our customers to save time and money, making productions as efficient as possible. D2X is a New Multicast Broadcast RAN Aligned with 5G NR for future Interworking https://lnkd.in/eUgyWWA2 D2X OFDM Frames are based on Resource Block (RB) of (24) Sub-carriers in Frequency and supports Bandwidths shown table below. The (24) is LCM of 3, 4, 6, 8, 12 the spacing frequency of the (5) scatter pilot patterns selectable. For the best spectrum Efficiency and Economics, a 24 MHz D2X Carrier shown table is shared by Broadcast Virtual Network Operators (BVNO). This could be comprised of (4) 6 MHz or (3) 8 MHz continuous broadcast carriers. With D2X Baseband CU/DU in Cloud and sent to Shared RU and antennas at transmitter / cell sites makes economics for operators attractive. A D2X 24 MHz UE will work on a global scale. Just as a 20MHz LTE UE was successfully deployed by MNO using (5, 10, 15, 20) MHz carriers. The graphic below shows 24 MHz D2X UE and support for reduce service capable IoT, Wearable with extended battery requirements. The D2X thesis is such a Multicast Broadcast RAN harmonized with 5G NR (MBS) with diverse Single Frequency Network Topologies D2X which could overlay and interwork offload 5G traffic or complement with converged services in future. D2X is currently being considered (Studied) by ATSC standard organization https://www.atsc.org/ and interested 5G MNO and or 5G Vendors are welcome to give input to consider feasibility for broadcast and or IMT bands. D2X is designed using O-RAN cloud-native principles. The Terrestrial Broadcast RAN architecture has not changed in 75 years until emergence of O-RAN.

The Convergence Opportunity for ATSC 3.0 and 5G NR Multicast Broadcast Service https://lnkd.in/eNK5Q7xb Abstract – This paper will introduce a new service called “Direct 2 Everything” (D2X). This service takes advantage of both ATSC 3.0 and 5G NR capabilities to provide a combined service offering. The D2X system leverages the strengths of each individual standard to provide a converged system with improved overall performance in terms of spectrum utilization. In order to allow for a harmonized service offering, we propose to extend the ATSC 3.0 physical layer standards to better align with the 5G system architecture and be complimentary to the 5G New Radio (NR) Multicast Broadcast System (MBS) standard. There are no modifications to the ATSC 3.0 standards other than the extensions which allow the current system to continue without disruption. To design a combined system, the 5G standards were first studied to identify the key harmonization points. The ATSC 3.0 physical layer standards were then used as a baseline and extended to allow for interworking with 5G NR (MBS). #D2X #5G #Harmonized #Interwork

Many innovators have played a role in developing and deploying these technologies, including TDF, which uses the DVB-T2 standard to transmit ultra-HD signals from the Eiffel Tower and many other sites, and ENENSYS Technologies, which has deployed a DVB-SIS solution that makes satellite broadcasting much more efficient. Today we're releasing Antenna's Q2'24 State of Subscriptions Report: Pricing & Packaging. With the maturation of the streaming industry and continued focus on profitable growth, services are increasingly working to improve and optimize their performance. In looking at the current state of the market for Premium and Specialty SVOD, Antenna data indicates over 50M Gross Adds in the past two quarters. Gross Adds increased +22.0% in Q1’24 compared to 2023 and are up +36.5% compared to 2022. Q1’24 marked the first quarter where Antenna measured under 5M SVOD Net Adds since the start of 2022. While the top-of-funnel remained healthy, there were a record number of Cancels (50.4M) in the quarter. In this more competitive environment, streamers are introducing new plans, packages, pricing models, and promotional strategies. So a question people have asked me, what's the difference between the DPA 2017 vs 4017C. Just posted our latest video showing the DPA Microphones 2017 on a Radius windshields RAD-2 Shock Mount. Two pretty simple recommendations for this mic. However, in addition to the 2 setups in this video you can use our softest hoops for more isolation if only using indoors with a foam. Honestly I'm not qualified enough to talk in detail about the acoustic differences between the 2017 vs the 4017C. What I can say is that the mics sound similar but not exactly the same. Personally, I liked the sound of my own voice using the 2017, but preferred the 4017C for a few nature recordings I did. The 2017 is a bit heavier than the 4017C (not by a crazy amount but noticeable). However the 2017 is still lightweight in terms of other shotgun mics. The body of the 2017 also feels very solid. Lastly with regards to wind protection -- the mic capsule on the 4017 is a bit further back from the front of the mic than on the 2017. So with a 12cm Nimbus or other slide on wind protection with a rubber end cap, you don't have to "bottom it out" on the 2017 ... just slide it past the line where the preamp starts.
