    Ever since the market traders in Babylon were attracting customers with cuneiform scripted stone tablets, advertisement took an increasingly important role in our society. With the glut of consumer products emerging from the industrial revolution and surrounding us everywhere we go, we witness advertisement penetrating our everyday life and thus finding wide acceptance in our societal consensus. While the litterature tends to take a rather controversial position towards the subject - as we can see it in Aldous Huxley's Brave New World - this 'fictional' criticism drowns in consumers' euphoria for more. Even though the german Jon Doe is faced with an average of 3000 advertisement messages every day, their thirst for advertisement does not seem to be quenched. Undeniably, advertisement would not be as omnipresent as it is today if people had no positive attitude towards it. Where, however, does this stem from?
