👉 During the 61th UN Commission for Social Development, the NGO Committee, which LP4Y is part of, is dedicated to raising awareness on the Priority Theme and bringing the voices, experiences, and recommendations from the grassroots. The NGO Committee held a Civil Society Forum, which one of the thematic sessions was about “Working Toward Concrete Solutions for Marginalized Young People Facing Unemployment.” For most marginalized youth living in poverty, their work does not mean earning a living wage. It means exploitation, very low pay, and forced layoffs. This panel showed how work should enable youth to live in dignity and be recognized as useful members of society. Sherlyn Caasi, Life Project 4 Youth (LP4Y) graduate, is an example of success. She worked as a call center agent in Alorica and is today coach herself leading a LP4Y program in Tondo, Manila, Philippines. She shared a testimony and precious inputs on this panel on February 10th. Listen to her!

À propos
Life Project 4 Youth Alliance is a federation of 17 organizations in 14 countries whose aim is the development of innovative solutions for the professional and social inclusion of Young people (17-24 years old) living in extreme poverty and victims of exclusion. Our 3 missions: - ACCOMPANY the most excluded Youth thanks to a tested pedagogy and ecosystem allowing them to find sustainable jobs on their own and to be socially included in the decent world. - CAMPAIGN with young adults coming from extreme poverty to offer concrete, grassroots solutions addressing inclusion issues and give them a platform. - ENGAGE all initiatives in favor of young adults in danger by sharing the expertise acquired, counselling, creating Youth inclusion networks, offering services and training. We know from experience that when we develop these three LP4Y missions simultaneously and evenly across a single ecosystem, there is a measurable increase in sustainable inclusion of marginalized Youth. Last October, the Youth Inclusion International Forum (#YIIF by YIN - Youth Inclusion Network) in NYC was a powerful reminder: the potential of 1.2 billion young people worldwide cannot go untapped. Yet, 78% of youth remain excluded from decent work, with young women and low-income communities facing the hardest challenges. Through impactful programs like RiseHy by Hyatt and "No Diploma, No Problem" by Veolia, we’ve seen how opportunity transforms lives. But it’s not enough. Change demands constant action — from individuals, businesses, and communities. Only together we can profundly change the requirements to access decent jobs. 💡 Your contribution can create pathways to education, training, and job for marginalized Youth. 👉 Like MANE, Year Up United and many others, join our next Youth Inclusion International Forum. Be a panelist, a host or a partner and inspire many other to join the movement for #YouthInclusion 💪 📖 Read NYC YIIF report to learn more: https://lnkd.in/g3iZfCQw Together, we’re not just supporting Youth — we’re shaping a future of inclusion and equal opportunities for all! #LP4Y

🎄✨ This holiday season, the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) is shining a spotlight on organizations making a difference, including LP4Y, thanks to its partnership with Hyatt! To showcase the impact of corporate social responsibility, the NYSE invited listed companies to share how they collaborate with nonprofits. These impactful partnerships are now symbolized by custom ornaments displayed on the holiday trees at the NYSE entrance. If you’re strolling through Wall Street this season, be sure to check out this festive and inspiring display! As we embrace the season of compassion, connection, and giving, we extend heartfelt thanks to Hyatt for their strong support. Together, we are making a difference, and we look forward to many more impactful projects ahead. The lighting of the Christmas tree on December 5th marked the beginning of a season filled with celebration and community spirit. 🌟 Let these ornaments inspire you to take action for Youth Inclusion — whether by giving your time, energy, or financial support to LP4Y. Together, we can create a brighter and more joyful society — not just at Christmas, but all year round! #NYSETreeLighting #LP4Y #SeasonOfGiving #YouthInclusion

🎉 A New Chapter for LP4Y Dhaka: Bigger, Better, Stronger LP4Y is thrilled to announce a huge step forward for LP4Y Bangladesh! Despite the challenges Youths and Catalysts have faced, including violent political protests this summer, their hope and resilience have led them to a new and improved Training & Development Center in Dhaka. The previous location was tucked away, limiting the ability to reach as many Youth and engage with the community. But they found a perfect new space — closer to the heart of the community, more visible, and with the capacity to welcome 50 Youth at once! By the end of September, construction was completed, and the center officially shifted. The Youth are incredibly motivated and excited to contribute to making the new TDC even better while working hard to fill the space through a rapid mobilization campaign. With your support, LP4Y can now support the sustainable integration of many more young women in Dhaka! In this season of celebration, consider donating and be a part of their transformation 🌟 To donate, follow this link https://lnkd.in/dUym6tFe and remember: Your donations benefit from a tax deduction (rules might vary from one country to another). #YouthInclusion #LP4Y

A Season of Youth Celebration, Time to Act for Youth Inclusion 💪 On this Giving Tuesday, we're happy to share the inspiring journey of Heba, a Green Village STARS in Lebanon, who has just opened her own beauty salon after only 6 months of gaining experience in the field! Despite the ongoing challenges the Youth are facing in Lebanon, stories like Heba's remind us that resilience and determination can shine even in the most difficult circumstances. Her hard work, combined with skills and confidence gained through LP4Y training has led her to this incredible achievement. Heba's salon is more than a business, it's a symbol of hope and empowerment. Let's applaud this milestone and the spirit of perseverance that Heba and so many other Youth embody! On this day dedicated to giving back, your support can help more Youth like her to reach for their dreams. 🌟 November 22, 2024: A Landmark Date for #NEETS Inclusion in Belgium At the initiative of LP4Y and the working group formed during the Youth Inclusion Forum (#YIF) last year in November at the European Parliament, over 50 key stakeholders — representing businesses, NGOs, and public authorities — came together to discuss launching a collaborative community committed to promoting sustainable employment for NEETS. One of the most inspiring moments was the testimony of a young employee from STIB-MIVB, reminding us all that sustainable inclusion in the workplace is not just possible, but also achievable! The momentum for action was unmistakable, and we’re excited to announce that an action plan will kick off in early 2025. We’ll keep you updated as this initiative progresses. A heartfelt thanks to UCB for hosting us at their Anderlecht headquarters, to ChangeNOW for sharing their experience and support, and to the members of the YIF working group for their dedication: UCB, Fnac VDB, Veolia, STIB-MIVB, Schneider, DUO for a JOB, Collectif Désistance Asbl, Team4Job, YouthStart Belgium, and BeCode. We also deeply appreciate the participation and support of Actiris and JES vzw, who shared their impactful initiatives and aligned with the YIF’s mission. Finally, a special thank you to Olivier De Schutter, our initiative's advocate, who inspired LP4Y Belgium team to aim higher and go further in its commitment to #YouthInclusion. Together, we’re building a future where every young person finds their place in the workforce. Stay tuned for what’s next! #NEET #CollaborationForChange
