#Postdoctoral Fellow #Position Available in Neurodegeneration Research The Galli team at the Institut de Psychiatrie et Neuroscience de Paris (IPNP)(https://lnkd.in/ejCE2U5K) is seeking a highly motivated and talented postdoctoral fellow for an exciting project investigating the molecular mechanisms of #Parkinson's disease (PD). This is a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of neurodegeneration research in a collaborative and dynamic environment. Project Overview Parkinson's disease is characterized by the dysfunction and degeneration of dopaminergic neurons. This project focuses on the role of late endosomal autophagic pathways in the secretome of neurons, with a particular emphasis on extracellular vesicles and mitovesicles. Using human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) carrying PD-associated mutations (LRRK2, α-synuclein), the successful candidate will: Investigate the toxic effects of secretomes from mutant dopaminergic neurons and astrocytes on healthy neurons. Explore the roles of VAMP7 and ATG5 in secretory and autophagic pathways. Assess autoimmune responses via the neuronal immunopeptidome to uncover potential therapeutic targets. This project is part of a collaborative effort between experts in neuronal cell biology and immunology (sebastian amigorena, Institut Curie), aiming to develop innovative therapeutic strategies that enhance degradative autophagy and identify new antigenic targets in PD. The ideal candidate will: Hold a PhD in neuroscience, cell biology, or a related field (first postdoctoral position preferably). Have hands-on experience with iPSC culture and differentiation into neural cell types. Be proficient in advanced microscopy techniques (e.g., confocal, live-cell imaging). Demonstrate a strong background in cell biology, particularly in autophagy and/or neurodegeneration. Be enthusiastic, collaborative, and able to work independently in a multidisciplinary setting. What We Offer A cutting-edge research environment at the IPNP in Paris. The opportunity to work on a high-impact project with translational potential.
