Generative AI is becoming increasingly significant in Swedish and Nordic businesses, influencing everything from direct leadership to onboarding new employees. That is clear from the findings of Capgemini’s report “Gen AI at Work”.   Some takeaways from the study: ➡️ 65% of managers and leaders believe generative AI allows them to be more strategic, focusing more on decision-making and innovation  ➡️ Only 15% use Gen AI tools daily – a surprising number, showing that we all have a responsibility to be role models, try the technology and ask for help but also set clear demands and goals ➡️ We need to create a culture of experimenting and continuous learning   The Nordic business community is very skilled in using generative AI, but more widespread adoption is needed. What is critical is of course that Gen AI is here to reinforce and enhance - not to replace human intelligence. Sipoo’s residents now can enter gym and ice swimming sites using only their mobile phones. Sipoo municipality was already using Visma Finland's Megaflex system with Idesco mobile-compatible readers installed, so migrating to mobile access was quite simple. Ossi Hartikainen, Sipoo municipality’s technical property manager, points out, “You rarely give your phone to someone else, so access rights aren’t getting misused anymore”. He continues, “We don’t have to worry about lost access cards either, because it’s much easier to manage and distribute customers’ mobile IDs than physical access cards – we save work time, while lowering costs.” Marko Lehtonen of Visma, Megaflex system provider noted: "Most of the door readers were already mobile-compatible, so it was an easy deployment.” He continues, “Additionally, since most of them are OSDP, they can be updated remotely. Tone of voice - subtleness - phrasing - it is so easy to fail in marketing, so easy to seem too pushy or too salesy. This is especially true in the entertainment industry, which I know very little about. My favourite Finnish band, Ultra Bra, is making a comeback with stadium concerts in summer 2025 and a couple of new songs. I am very happy about this and made myself available to buy tickets today when the special sales began (for some other group, it started already yesterday). I loved all the pre-launch activities, videos, and secrecy. However, when I saw that VIP-ticket packages were named after their most important songs in the ticket-selling app, it made me cringe 🙄 😣. It felt like all their music was for sale to the highest bidder. That was just how I felt, and I am sure some other fans did not even notice or loved the concept. I got tickets anyway, but now it feels a bit anticlimactic... So, be careful with what you include in commercial concepts - true fans (or your long-time customers) might be very sensitive 😅 🤔. #toneofvoice #marketing

Interesting discussions today at Agile Tampere and time flew really fast. Peter Palmér shared experiences from Scania. I also attended workshop with Terhi Aho and got ideas about micro experimentation. Ramya Sriram walked through ideas for finding flow. Marko Klemetti gave refreshing real demo on Devops that you don't usually see in conferences. The day ended with panel discussion about future of Agile and what comes the next. Framework discussions slow down but a good raise was that retrospectives will be usefull anyway if you want to develop - what ever the direction is. Sustainability and minimizing work done (and making only the essence) was also mentioned. What do you think is the next big thing?

Microsoft's New Data Center in HRI Can Now Officially Commence 🌐🏗️ Helsinki Ring of Industry continues to solidify its reputation as an ideal location for data centers, with Microsoft receiving the green light to begin construction on its cutting-edge data center in Nummela, Vihti. This new data center will not only enhance Microsoft’s global cloud services but also contribute to the local economy by creating numerous job opportunities during and after construction.   Pekka Isosomppi, Microsoft's Communications Director, recently commented in an interview with Länsi-Uusimaa that construction on all three data centers in Vihti, Espoo, and Kirkkonummi is expected to start simultaneously this fall. "Construction takes about a couple of years. How to find your limits in global work environment? 🌍🕰️👩‍💼 I work with several different locations. These have a different time zone, the length of the working day and the timing of of the lunch hour vary. A few tips: 𝟏.) 𝐓𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐬: I often tell new colleagues about Finnish business hours right away when getting to know them. I explain time for lunch, dinner and closing time of the daycare place. It is my wish that we respect these whenever possible. 👍 Funny fact: Our lunch and dinner are really early, if you compare with Colleagues in France and Spain! 😅 𝟐.) 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞: Feel free to ask about the rhythm of work in their country, and try respect it when you can 🙏 𝟑.) 𝐛𝐞 𝐅𝐥𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞: From time to time, the last meeting of the day can be extended to start at late in the evening. These days, I try to take time for myself in the morning, for example by going for a run or jogging.  🏃

Have you tried to spend a day without interacting with a GenAI topic, with success? Most likely not, it is the talk of the town as we all know. If you do have those ambitions here is my contribution to make it impossible.   We have just launched our newest GenAI initiative, our new chatbot enhanced with ChatGPT capabilities. Launching something that is based on trending technology, it’s nothing new in itself, I would also guess that's kind of what you would expect. However, we’ve always been curios and obsessed about how technology can improve customer and employee experience.   So, in our trademark manner we have been thinking and have come up with a clever solution that reduces the time to "train" and deploy the bot. At the same time, we’ve introduced easy to use features that secures the quality in the interactions and of course supportive functions to improve the quality even further.
